Before we start I am no where near the best writer, because there will always be someone better then you at everything and so on, that supports the saying nobody can be the best or the worst at something.
So let's get into it!
Okay for an introduction to start the story... Please just please do not do this-
Bad;
"I woke up to my alarm clock blaring, I am olive Macon a blonde girl nineteen years of age"
Better;
" a bucket of ice cold water was thrown at me, stupid jocks doing those challenges all the time, "EYYY WE GOT MACON!" one of the fuck boys yelled as the others cheered in unison like children"
Now if you want your book to be more of a fluff and wholesome approach you could be like;
"I woke up to the purrs of my cat Appa next to me, I stroked his cream and brown fur. I got up not wanting time with Appa to end, but alas I had work to do"
Also hooks are something you should use in description and in the introduction.
For those who're wondering hooks are used for collage applications, where they ask important questions like "why should this happen/who do they meet?" Stuff to get whoever's reading interested.
It will also be helpful to show the reader that the writer is dedicated to the story like making sure you love your story is the first thing to making a good one.
