Walking to the dining room so many things go through my mind. How could mom hide something like this? I mean I knew we weren't on the same page about a lot of different things in my life but to blatantly hate me because I'm not the daughter you were missing. That's not something I can forgive. I had nothing to do with the decision my grandparents and uncle made. Dad had to suffer as well because he wanted to support his wife but also be there or me.
When I walk into the dining room, I see Lina sitting there rubbing her extremely large belly. Why is her belly so big? She looks full term, but I could've sworn she was only 6 months, maybe the baby is going to be big.
She looks up at me and smiles. Why did dad need to talk to the guys by themselves? I don't want to deal with this.
"Hi Lana." She says slightly sitting up.
"Hello." I say as I sit across the table from her. I decided I'm not going to say more than I have to. I'm not going to let her get me even more riled up.
Mom comes out of the kitchen carrying a serving dish, "You're finally done talking to your father? It's about time I didn't cook all this food so you could let it get cold."
No, you cooked it to make a good impression on the guys like you're an award-winning mother. What you don't realize is first impressions are permanent. They know you're just as much of a harpy as my "sister". I say to myself.
"Auntie Allie it smells so good. I can't wait to eat it, and neither can the baby. Do you think the guys could hurry it up? We're starving." She says trying to pout.
"No, they can't. They are speaking to my dad about OUR wedding. This isn't about you. So, sit there and wait." I say sitting back in my seat.
She starts to pout more, and mom pats her hand. "Why do you have to talk to her that way? Can't you just be nice? She's carrying her husband's child and if she's hungry they can hurry up so she can eat." Mom says as she stands up to leave the room.
"Allie that's not necessary. We're here." Dad says coming into the dining room with the guys.
It's a good thing too because I don't know how much longer I can keep my cool with these too.
Dad sits at the other end of the table while mom takes the end closest to me. Jimin sits closest to mom with Joonie next to him on my left. Yoongi is on my right then Hobi who's sitting closest to Dad. Lina is sitting across from me on the other side of the table.
"Why is Chris not here with you?" I ask trying to make small talk.
"He had some work that couldn't be left unfinished. He's on his way though. He can't stand to leave us alone for too long." She says as she rubs her belly again. I really pity that child.
"This all looks so good Mrs. Daniels." Joonie says putting food on my plate.
"Well, it's just something I threw together. Seeing as this is our first meeting, I wanted to be sure everyone had something good to eat good." She says trying to sound like sally homemaker.
"We've met before at the baby shower." Jimin says with a smile.
"You're right. Jimin was it. I didn't get a chance to introduce myself that day. Plus, I didn't know you were involved with my daughter."
"More like you were too busy yelling at me" I mumble to myself.
She looks at me and smiles, "Well that ugly business wouldn't have happened if you hadn't done what you did." She says serving Lina.
That doesn't go unnoticed by me that she isn't willing to serve us but she's really quick to serve Lina. Now that I know the truth, I notice everything that she does for her. I don't think this dinner is going to go as planned.
