I am dreaming. I know it immediately. Space flows differently, moving around me like a great thunderstorm. Flashes light up my vision, showing different scences. I can almost feel the thunder, rocking me to the core. Helpless, I push through the clouds, but I can go no where. I exert myself further, but the boiling grey sea is relentless. I stop and watch the scenes the lightning shows me.

A burst of light, and suddenly I am standing on a plain. Waves of soft blond grass licks my shins. Above me, only sky. Pure blue, like a diamond the colour of violets. It is a picture of blue and yellow. It should be beautiful, but I feel its hostility. I am alone, with no one to turn to and no where to go. Something flys my way, a bird, I think. I reach for it, but the shape zips through my fingers. Another one comes, and I am ready this time. My fingers latch onto something firm, and the vision changes.

I am standing before my mother. I can't see where we are. Every time I try to focus on the background, my vision blurs and I am pulled back to my caregiver. She reaches out to me, and I reach too, but something comes between us.

My mother is gone. I stand on a hill overlooking a crystal clear lake. Indefinite shapes move about the valley below me. In the distance there is a crowning of silvery mountains. I feel peace, but sadness. I feel finalty, but disruption. A throne, situated at the edge of the lake, dominates the scene. The great body of water is a mirror, reflecting back images. It is so still, at such calm with the wind that I can make out the image of each needle on each tree. A throne, situated at the edge of the lake, dominates the scene. My eyes are drawn to it like a shark to blood. I get the impression that everything revolves around that black piece of cut stone. A shiver runs down my spine.

Suddenly, I am aware of a presence behind me. I whirl around to see a faceless ghost stepping in close. When it speaks, I want to run and crawl in a deep hole somewhere.

"I have finally found you. You can not imagine how long I have waited for this moment." I can't reply. I feel as if a sock has been stuffed down my throat. "I must thank you." The image begins to fade, returning to the empty blackness my mother and I stood in. A chilling whisper hangs in the air.

"See you soon."
