Chapter 4: Vaile with the Guardian Guides

It took over an hour to get to the guides office. Vaile had another 45 minutes to wait to speak with her commanding officers or how she likes to think of them as the Melancholy Four. They wear all black capes, no one knows what type of fey or other they are and they have a mellow deep voice that can blend together as one. They only do that while holding a conversation with the whole guide. Vaile hates when they do that because it echos threw the whole structure that is home for the Guardian Guides offices.

"So I meet my new charge, Jasmine, today. She is unlike any that I have had protected before. There are some concerns that I have with her being a protecti. (Without waiting to be asked Vaile explains her concerns) Jasmine was found in the scared meadow upon when she woke she stated that she always wakes there. Jasmine has been coming to Aeval in her dreams since the age of four and has know only one person this whole time here. The person she knows is Prince of Seelie Thomas Llyr. Prince Thomas is besides the point right now . I just am out of my depth with what i should be doing since two out of the three rules have been broken and Jasmine did not even know about them . I want her to trust me but there is little time for that since tomorrow is her sixteenth birthday . Please help me." Vaile explains. After everything that Vaile has told the Melancholy Four they are still and serene . That is never a good thing for anyone . It means something powerful is being discussed . However, why would Jasmine be a person of power.

The Melancholy Four advise Vaile that Jasmine will be a person watch and protect for the rest of Vaile's existence, which as most know is an exceedingly long time . Usually Guardian Guides watch their charges until their powers have been settled. Some cases they will stay with a charge only if their powers a dangerous or powerful.

Vaile wonders what the case with Jasmine will be. Hopefully she will not be a danger to herself and others. The Melancholy Four go on saying that she is allowed to be in the meadow whenever she chooses and her friendship with Thomas is not an issue at all. Actually it makes things for them easier. This keeps getting stranger and stranger for Vaile because as far as she knows no one but a royal fey is allowed in the meadow at anytime and can be friends with other royals. Can Jasmine really be a royal fey? The only court that does have a ruling court is the Summer Court. They have not had anyone to rule for over 100 years.

Vaile knows now that she has to keep a watchful eye on Jasmine encase she is the true heir to the throne of the summer court. Vaile will watch for Jasmine's abilities to grow and mature. She will need to keep track of each new power that come into play and any special skills that she has. Maybe once she talks with Prince Thomas they both can work together to help Jasmine.

Once Vaile has thanked her superiors for their assistance and stated that she will keep them up to date on how Jasmine is doing, was she free to go back to the meadow. After stopping in the market to get some food for Jasmine did she finally had back to the meadow.

She should not be surprised to see Prince Thomas there. However, she truly was.
