Humility
Humility; N.
A modest or low view of one's own importance; modestyEveryone, and I mean everyone, has made fun of someone in their lives but when it comes down to them, they can't take the heat. The sad truth is that there only a few people in the world that has this quality. I guess that's why they call it a virtue...
People want to feel like they're important, or that they matter to the situation. People have to realize though, that sometimes they don't matter. No one will though, even if they do they won't admit it. People only want to be noticed, so if they get put down they will try even harder to get up.
Sometimes the people who are putting them down have probably have troubles with humility. They did realize that they do not matter, so to make up for it they bring others down to their level. Doing that just brings them even lower. They don't realize what humility is truly about, but they think they do. They enforce what they do know to make up for not being important; that they don't matter. Making everyone else have that same opinion on themselves.
The true essence of humility is to accept that you mean little to nothing, but carrying on anyway. You could mean literally nothing to the world, but you know you mean the world to others. So you take a breath and suck it up so others around you feel better. So in short, humilty is being able to take a hit or two, but moving on and accepting it.
