(Dipper pov)

This entire tour has been a total disaster. Every district we go to, people resent us for having lived while their kids died. What's worse is that everyone hates us even more when we read the flashcards. Nothing is getting better, only worse everywhere.

I sigh as I struggle with this stupid tie.

"Here, let me help." Bill comes over and helps me with it.

"I hate these things. Makes me feel like a dressed poodle."

"I know but it's a fancy gala, Dipper."

"Do we gave to go?"

"It's a mandatory part of the tour."

"I don't want to be around those rich snobs."

"I don't either, but we don't have much of a choice."

"They're all just waiting for you to go on one knee."

"What if we give them what they want?"

"Are you serious?"

"Yes. I've been wanting to for awhile but never found the right time. Maybe this will convince everyone."

"This is a big step you know."

"I know."

"...okay, let's do it."

"Okay." He softly pecks me on the lips. "Let's get going now."

......................................................................................................

Bill keeps his arm around my waist as we talk to a lady by the table of extravagant food. "I am telling you boys, that must try this next reccomendation."

"We can't, anymore and we might explode." Bill tries to politely tell her.

"Just take this." She hands him a drink. "Just one sip of this and you'll have room for more."

Bill and I share a look as we walk away from the lady.

"Everywhere else people are starving, meanwhile people here have so much that they're making themselves throw up just so they can stuff their faces more." I don't bother trying to hide the disgust in my voice.

"That's rich assholes for you." Bill says as he starts leading us through a slow dance.

"....Do you think any of this will ever get any better?"

"I don't know, I just know I can't stand around doing nothing anymore."

"Tyrone used to talk about if people didn't play in the games. I always said he was talking nonesense."

"He had a point."

"I know.Everything just feels so hopless now."

"Maybe there's something we can still do."

"Like what?"

"I'm not sure, but I'll let you know when I figure something out."

"What if we got our families and ran away? I could convince Tyrone to bring his family too and we all could just survive in the forest."

"Would Tyrone do it?"

"He used to talk about running away all the time."

"In case you haven't noticed, Dipper, he doesn't like me very much."

"Well, he will just have to deal with it."

"Let me know if he's in then."

Hearing a large boom everyone looks up to see fireworks exploding overhead."

Everyone else just enjoys the fireworks but I just look up at the mansion, Snow standing on a balcony with a drink in hand. Even from here the drink looks like blood.

We make eye contact and I slightly raise my eyebrow, silently asking if I did what he wanted. My blood runs cold as he shakes his head no.

I force myself to look away from him as I grip Bill's arm. I feel him put his hand over ming. "What's wrong?"

"I don't feel so good....."

"Okay, come on."

He puts an arm around my shoulders leading me back to the train.

Once we're in my room I take the tie off dropping it to the ground. "Dipper."

I turn around and see Bill down on one knee holding out a ring. It's nothing fancy, just a simple golden ring with pinetrees and triangles carved into it.

"What....what are you....."

"I wanted this to be just us before it's for show." Taking my left hand he slides the ring on my ring finger. "I love you, Dipper Pines."

He stands up cupping my cheek in his hand as he kisses me.
