I sat staring at the waves. It's been a long few years and so much has changed. I'm not the young girl who was popular and selfish any more. Now look at me, I'm a young woman who has learned to care for others and tear down the brick walls around me. Smiling, I cradle the ball of orange fur in my hands.
"Millie!" I turned around to see two very familiar faces. Caleb and Blake walk over to me, their fingers interlocked with each other.
"Hey." I responded as the couple sat next to me. I still can't believe how they got together, but stranger things have happened.
"Things have been pretty calm these last few weeks." Blake said as his eyes looked up to the horizon.
"I'm sure things are gonna get even busier for you, your highness."
"Yeah, yeah. At least I'll have some help from my favorite knight." Caleb's dark skin brightens as a dust of pink glitter his cheeks.
"Don't think I'll help you get out of all your studies." Caleb said as he pecked Blake on the cheek. Blake rolled his eyes, but smiled as he leaned his head on Caleb's shoulder.
"Whatever." He mumbled as his eyes returned to the horizon. My eyes followed his to the pink sky.
"I wonder what the future holds." Caleb said after a moment of silence.
"I don't know, but I hope it involves cheesecake." Blake answered. A light hearted laugh escaped Caleb and soon Blake and I joined in as we sat there under the cherry tree.
