Cuando desapareció

Alma didn't know what to think after that day.

She had noticed the beautiful weather change unnaturally quickly but had thought nothing of it, expecting it to be a slight emotional dip from Pepa. It was only when she found the sand around her lifting off the ground in swirls of green light that she began to put the pieces together.

Quickly, Casita helped Alma slide down the steps and she ran towards the plaza, shielding her face from the sand, watching the panic rise around her. She had to stop this before it got out of hand.

But by the time she reached the center of town the winds around her son were too high to get to him and her only choice was to watch the chaos unfold around her, that was until a vision came before her and she had no choice now but to look.

She saw the sand before her pool in the air and rebuilt itself into several images: first, the casita was shown, in full beautiful bloom but soon it changed and the house cracked at the seams and started to break apart. Finally though, a girl with thick curly hair and eyes that reminded Alma of someone materialized in front of the house, standing proudly among the destruction.

After the vision had ended, Alma looked to see her son lying on the cobbles, just away from the fountain, covered in sand and she felt nothing but anger towards him.

Now though, a day later, still looking for her son after he disappeared without a trace just a moment after, the only thing she could feel was scared: for him, for herself, for the family and especially for the encanto considering what the vision had shown her.

Julieta and Augustin had been asking around but not only had no one seen him but everyone seemed very hateful towards him, and who could blame them? Even Julieta had been affected and was struggling to feel empathetic to her brother at that moment.

Delores and Isabela spent all of that week rummaging through rooms, street corners and once were even found looking in the mountains around the village for their tio but were convinced to give up by Pepa and Felix when they explained that he had left the village.

It wasn't long until the entire people believed that the notorious Bruno Madrigal had left for good and it was even shorter time before it became an unspoken rule that no one talked about Bruno or that day, or the visions that they had seen. As far as the village was concerned, that monster was never to return.

Delores believed otherwise: She could sometimes hear him muttering from somewhere in the house, sometimes even talking directly to her and even years after, the story of Julia and Jose continued.

She continued to smile at the rats when she noticed them creep by and felt her hand along the walls so she could feel the vibrations of his movements within them. To Delores at least, Bruno never really left and it wasn't until years later, when Mirabel was much older, that everyone else realized this...

THE END

(Ya know, until 15 years later, when encanto starts.)

WRITERS NOTE-     Hey guys! thanks for making it to the end.

Having said that, i would love to write a kind of part two for years later with Mirabel and an Evil Bruno au as an extension if that would be something people would be interested in.

Any ideas or support would be appreciated.

Thanks again, hope you enjoyed.
