Deva was reading a book on her bed while listening to calm music playing from her elegant gramophone that has been in her family for decades. She was currently listening to "Hard to Say I'm Sorry/Get Way" by Chicago which was turned on by her house elf, Evera, who was organizing her desk.

Deva was a Lavigne. They were one of the only rich/elegant type families who were pureblood but against the Dark Lord. They didn't want a house elf, but Deva's mother, Adelaide, saved poor Eve from the Malfoy's. Adelaide freed the elf, but Eve's love for the Lavignes was strong enough for her to stay. No matter how much times they would try to convince her to not have to work, Eve just says she's paying them back.

"Eve, darling?" Evera stopped cleaning as her face lit up at Deva's pet name.

"Yes Ms. Heart?"

"You don't have to clean. Also, please call me by my first name. You don't need to call me by the middle or last. You're safe." Deva said softly, not wanting to sound like she's scolding the poor elf.

"Evera is terribly sorry Ms- Deva." Deva smiled.

"What did Mother say about first person pronouns?"

"I am terribly sorry. I apologize. Did Eve- I do good?" Eve's grin grew wider and she started to do a tiny dance movement with her arms, awaiting a response.

"I am very proud of you, darling. Come here." Deva motioned for her to come over there, to give her a hug. Eve grinned even larger if that was even possible and ran towards Deva and hugged her. After they released, Eve snapped her fingers and in about 2 seconds a rose was in her hands. She outstretched her hand towards Deva.

"Here is a flower because I love you." Deva's heart melted at the words.

"I love you too, Eve."

・・・

Today is the day, Deva thought. It was her 11th birthday. She was laying in bed when her mother walked into her room, weird figures that Deva couldn't recognize behind her.

"Rise in shine, darling. Happy birthday to my beautiful daughter."

"Thanks mother-" Deva started before getting interrupted by 2 teenage boy voices. Brothers.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DEADLY DEVA!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!"

"Stop calling me that name!" Deva playfully glared before laughing. She outstretched both of her arms open asking for a hug. The boys ran to her quickly and engulfed her in a tight hug.

"Alton- Hudson- I can't- I can't breathe." Deva said breathlessly from being in the tight hug.

"Oops, sorry daisy." Hudson said. After this the boys started to smirk when they saw their mother give Deva a box that was slightly larger than an envelope.

"Happy Birthday, Deva." Deva grabbed the box from Adelaide's hands before opening and seeing a letter.

Ms. Deva S. Lavigne

The Lavigne Castle

When Deva looked at the front of the letter the letter was sealed with red candle wax with an imprint of a chest shape with 4 animals in each corner. She gently opened it to a letter and began to read it.

"Oh my Godric. OH MY GODRIC I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO HOGWARTS!" Deva exclaimed. It was her dream to join her brothers in their adventures at Hogwarts. Everyone took turns hugging her in congratulation.

"Well. What are we waiting for? Diagon Ally here we come." Adelaide said while everyone rushed to get dressed.

Deva took a quick shower, washing her hair thoroughly but quickly, and washing her body with a potion she created to give the scent of coffee and books. Not that she needed it, without it she stills smells like that, but the potion makes it last longer. Deva dried her hair and put it up in a half up, half down style letting some of her front hair fall freely. She put on a white long sleeved collared undershirt, adding a grey'd colored down brown sweatshirt that was large compared to her frail body. She topped it off with a simple dark grey pencil skirt that wasn't too tight. She then added white ankle socks under her Mary Jane shoes along with white leg warmers.

Soon enough everyone was downstairs talking then set off to Diagon Ally. This is gorgeous, Deva thought before her mother yelled at Hudson for messing up Alton's shirt. Deva chuckled to herself before looking around at the beautiful town. I cannot wait for Hogwarts.

a/n: words cannot explain how excited i am for this story. i'm not sure why, but my last story i felt so connected to, but i wasn't nearly as excited as i am for this one. i already have the end planned for this story, and i'm not changing it. this is an apology for the future. anyways, all italics are the person in view's thoughts. if it is 3rd person, like this prolouge, then at the end it states who's thought it was.
