It's 2am and I couldn't sleep, no surprise. i got broken up with not even a week ago. I'm blocked on everything and to make matters worse... it's fall break.
I turn over to get on my phone when i see a message
"kylie is typing..."
"kylie sent a chat"
what is she doing up this late i thought?

"I broke up with jaedyn"
"WHAT WHY???"
"i don't know i just don't want to be in a relationship anymore"
"oh i'm sorry, well hey now we're single together"
"yea the whole dating best friends didn't age well"

oh oops, i forgot to mention. our boyfriends... well our exes were best friends as well. yep this story just keeps getting more and more complicated.

i knew i had to text jaedyn, maybe that's wrong but he helped a lot with my break up with parker. it's not fair if i don't even check on him

"hey are you okay"-me
"yea well no. this sucks. it came out of nowhere, i was on the way home from a baseball tournament and she just decides to end things"
"ugh i'm sorry jaedyn, i know this sucks."
"yea it's okay, thanks for checking on me. it means a lot"
"ofc whenever you need me:)"

i turn my phone off and try to sleep. what a crazy thing, we all went through break ups at the same time.

the next day was monday, back to school. everything is normal. i give parker his stuff back holding back tears. i make eye contact with jaedyn, his eyes are puffy, i can tell he's been crying. i know exactly how he feels and how much it sucks

i wave at him, know how bad it'll look if we said anything to each other. but then the craziest thing happened.
kylie and parker, in the hallway all over each other. jokingly hitting each other, giggling, smiling.

i make eye contact again with jaedyn. i mouth "check your phones

"yea how are they gonna act like that right after they break up with us"-jaedyn
"gosh i hate that, but they would say we're sensitive if we said anything"-me
"imagine if we did that, they would probably kill both of us"-jaedyn
"HONESTLY"-me

that sparked an idea "what if we did that" NO NO NO that's way too petty. right? but what if we did it for real. NO ADDISON WHAT ARE YOU THINKING. this is your best friends ex, and your ex's best friend. you don't like him... you can't like him... besides he would never like you back... right?
