... i wished i could fly away to never land with peter, away from my unconventional family to be happy.
"okay, peter pan it is" harry chuckles at me, and i smile his way.

"luka?" harry walks down his staircase, his fingers running through his knotted locks. he had just woken up to the smell of food, and he was confused.
he heads through the living area to the kitchen, setting eyes on the smaller lad cooking breakfast. he hadn't heard him come in.
"luuuukaaa?" harry repeats, the boy's head snapping around and staring at him terrified.
"good morning, harry! i'm sorry i'm still here- i- wanted to cook you breakfast to say thank you! ill go" he scurries to where harry had placed his clean clothes the night before, shoving them against his chest.
before he could leave the kitchen, harry grabbed him by the waist and sat him down in a dining chair, hushing the smaller, panicked boy.
"hey, little dude, stop right there! you're not going anywhere til you've at least eaten breakfast!" harry chuckles, trying to soothe the stranger sat in his chair.
he wanted to help the boy, and he felt the need to keep him there for as long as possible- the thought of letting him back onto the street so soon shaking him to his core. a boy of his size isn't fit to be living that way.
"are- you sure, harry?" luka's doe eyes look up at the man, and harry's dimpled smile calms his nerves as he places his clothes back on the table and gets back to his masterpiece- eggs, bacon and pancakes.
luka had been a great cook before he became homeless. spending hours skimming through cook books a day, wanting to be a chef from a young age.
but of course, that wouldn't work. his secret ruined that for him.
"i'm sure" harry chirps down to the boy on the dining chair. he holds his hand out to grab the boys, walking him back to the cooker where they finished breakfast together.
they ate in silence, comfortable silence. louis was eating slow and steady, looking up at harry every few seconds who was already finished, looking through someone on an ipad.
"i'm finished" luka squeaked out, the room feeling alive again after the silence barrier was broken.
"let me take your plate" harry smiles at the baby-faced boy, grabbing both their plates and taking them to the dishwasher.
"i- i've got to go now, yes?" luka mumbles under his breath, but harry heard him and his heart dropped.
the leaving of luka was inevitable, harry invited him in for the night and it had well passed that. but he didn't want the vulnerable boy to leave? how is that fair?
before even thinking, harry turned around and asked an impossible question. "you can stay, if you get a job for yourself. you can live here rent free, ill pay for everything. and you can save for your own place" harry rushes, walking towards louis in a soft, but quick paced manner.
"w-what- why?" his lip wobbles as he was faced with the offer of a lifetime, the chance to get off the streets, an offer he'd been waiting for for what seemed like forever.
"you're a good kid, luka, and it's not right to put you back on the streets." harry smiles weakly at the boy, and luka puts his head down.
stuttering, he responds "can- i think about it?" harry didn't expect the respond that he gave, but he was happy he'd weigh his options.
although they'd just met the night before, harry was drawn to luka and he wanted him happy and safe.
he understood why he may be scared, or unsure of what to respond.
harry had an idea.
"luka, i know we met yesterday but i'd like to take you out for the day" harry smirks at the younger as luka's face stretches into a smile.
"'kay"

opening the door to his car, luka steps out, a grin on his face as harry ushers him over to the entrance of the mall.
he hadn't been to the mall in years. at one point in his childhood he would go here with his sister every single day.
"what are we doing here?" he asks harry excitedly. he had no money, but he wouldn't mind just looking around as harry did his thing- it was just as magical to the childish boy.
"shopping!" harry smiles as they enter the large building, the smell of food and the happy atmosphere filling luka's senses.
