Madison was getting ready for school. She loathed school with a passion but her mom said she could only go to warped tour if she went to school every day. As she was finishing up her cereal her mom walked into the room. "Did you remember to put the crackers in my lunch?" Madison asked.
"Yes. I don't know what's so important about crackers." Madison sighed."shut up mom! You dont know anything about anything." Her mom turned to her "don't use that tone with me." She said and handed her lunch to her. Madison grabbed the lunchbox and stumbled out the door. She arrived to school late and almost as soon as she stepped through the door the principal walked up to her. "This is the eighth time you have been late for school this month." Madison rolled her eyes. "You better get your act together" said the principal, but madison didn't care. She had more important things to do. She proceeded down the hallway to her first class.
Her first class was boring. So were all her classes. The highlight of her day was when somebody said they liked her mcr shirt. There was only one thing that could make the day better. Finding the perfect cracker.
Madison walked to the cafeteria and found the only available table by the window. She sat down and pulled a zip lock bag of crackers out of her lunchbox. She examined the first cracker. It was broken in half. It was not the perfect cracker. She threw it into her mouth and ate it harshly. She reached her hand into the bag and pulled out a second cracker. She took a good look at it. It was far from the perfect cracker. She sighed and did this with all the crackers until the bag was gone. No perfect cracker today. Madison felt as though all hope was lost but she wasn't about to give up. She would do the same thing tomorrow.
The next day at lunch madison sat at the same table in cafeteria as she did the previous day. She reached into her lunchbox and pulled out the bag of crackers. Just as she was about to pick up the first cracker she heard a voice behind her. "So you like mcr?" It was the girl that had commented on her shirt yesterday. "Yeah." Madison said in an irritated tone. She was mad. How dare someone talk to her at such an important moment. Let alone someone she didn't even know. This moment had become like a ritual to her. "I'm Laura." Said the girl. Madison didn't have time for this. "Go away" she said to the girl. And the girl scurried off. Madison returned to her project and was disappointed to find there was still no perfect cracker.
Days passed and madison still didn't find the perfect cracker. Madison cried. Would she one day find the perfect cracker?
