The meeting went on for hours and the worst part was that nothing of real importance was being discussed. King Stefan looked around at the people in the boardroom, and thought again how extremely bored he was. It was nothing more than council men and women who thought they knew what was best for the country, finding solutions to making it better and all of the regular politics. Nine council members made up the royal Ministry house of representatives, with his father, Dimir, and mother, Clarece sitting in as consultants. Each minister was a branch of his kingdom, extending from east to west and north to south while another had a central positon of representation of the kingdom. Each minister came directly under the king who is the final commanding chief and every decision, policies, laws and regulation has to go throw him before it can be implemented. It can be tiresome work being King but with the division in sectors, it means that the people's needs are properly met and they are better equipped to maintain law and order.
Stefan sighed again. They had already discussed the important issues and topics and now he just wanted to conclude the meeting. But he wasn't rude and unfair; the members of the Ministry were happily indulging in a conversation that is obviously important to them and so he let them carry on, all the while feigning interest. He had no clue what topic they were on.
Three counsel women and four men made up the entirety of his board. It was routine- checking up on the kingdom discussing various problems and solutions. It was mandatory of the king to represent with the counsel on a weekly basis. Nothing detrimental was being discussed mostly they were discussing topics that were already covered and that was why he couldn't wait to leave. Sighing he listened to them drone on about which day they could announce as a holiday to attract more tourist and the various activity they could establish to build and create more entertaining resources for the people.
His kingdom was flourishing, with its rich natural resources in oil mining, fossil fuels, its beaches, thick flush forestry and gorgeous sunshine; he didn't think they needed much for tourism attraction. Their island was already the ideal vacationing spot and tourism was high all throughout the seasons. But he guessed the council didn't have much to talk about so he let them carry on, as long as they kept him out of such dreary details. His royal advisor, Rolin Advers, nudged him in the side, smirking when he scowled at him. Stefan shook his head hoping it look like he was paying attention. Rolin was his best friend from their teenage years. They had met through a tragedy but it did not stop them from becoming fast friends. They had gone to the same college and long after he graduated, Rolin had advanced in study to become his advisor "So any plans for tonight?" Stefan asked quietly. He could really use some down time, he had travelled a lot this week for several meetings and needed to relax a bit.
Rolin grinned mischievously 'Do you want me to make plans? I thought you had that dinner with the Princess of Oakland?"
Stefan rolled his eyes "Her father wants me to take her to dinner but I had not said yes. I want to relax, it's been awhile since I felt the warmth of a woman and I'm in need right now. So any good party that we could attend?"
While he waited for Rolin to check his phone he forced his attention to the meeting. "So young King, when will you be choosing your bride? We need a Queen." He suddenly sat up straight and his attention now fully on what had been said while he wasn't paying attention. When had the discussion turned on him? Stefan scowled at the chunky minister, narrowing his eyes at the man who dared to ask him that question. He was not going to let them lure him into a discussion or situation he wasn't ready for.
He looked on each of the Ministers' faces to see them waiting in anticipation for his answer. His mom and dad were smirking at him, his mom especially wanted him to get married. She loved playing the match maker. Stefan's lips pressed in a hard line. "When I'm good and ready I'll find someone."
