Chapter 6.

Louis' sisters were not impressed to see Finn at Louis' birthday party. Louis and Harry had been quite clingy after the Britney dance they'd had up in their room before the pageant. Now they were on opposite sides of the living room, talking to everyone but each other. Finn was stuck to Louis' side and wouldn't leave him alone.

'We need a plan B,' Lottie told Fizzy. 'Otherwise all the hard work we've put into getting them to realize they have feelings for each other would be for nothing.

'I'll think up of something,' Fizzy told her. They watched as Louis excused himself to go out and have a smoke, Harry's eyes following Louis across the room. Finn followed Louis outside. It was snowing again.

'Thank you for inviting me. Your family is amazing,' he told him.

'They are,' he said as he took a drag of his cigarette and blew out a plume of white smoke into the cold night.

'You know when I told you that maybe you and Harry had something that others could see but you couldn't?' Finn asked him. Louis nodded. 'Well you do. I've had a great time with you Louis but you and Harry have that undeniable connection. It's obvious every time you talk about him. You get this adorable twinkle in your eyes and it was very obvious after seeing you two together at the pageant earlier.'

'But I like you,' Louis said. Finn chuckled.

'And I like you but we're not a match Louis. We don't have that connection. You and Harry do.' Finn squeezed his shoulder. 'Don't let him go.' He placed a kiss on Louis' cheek. 'I'm going to head home. Please thank your mother on my behalf and good luck with Harry.' Louis watched Finn walk away. Was everyone right about him and Harry? But he had told Harry how he felt and Harry didn't say that he was in love with him back. In fact, he invited Finn to the party! Louis shook his head and went back to his party and tried to forget how he had opened up his feelings to Harry and how Harry did not reciprocate his feelings.

Little by little everyone trickled out of the house. His sisters went up to bed. Harry was nowhere to be seen. It was just Louis down in the kitchen. He cleared up as much as he could because the next day being Christmas, everyone would be up early and his aunt and family would be over again for their traditional family Christmas day. When he was done, he trudged upstairs to his bedroom. He was tired and desperate for sleep. He opened the door to his room and found Lottie and Fizzy asleep in his bed. His grandparents were sleeping in Lottie and Fizzy's room but Lottie and Fizzy were supposed to sleep on blown up mattresses in Phoebe and Daisy's room but clearly they had taken his room. Louis huffed and walked back out closing the door softly behind him. Lottie and Fizzy high fived each other, cuddled beneath the duvet and went to sleep.

Louis walked towards Phoebe and Daisy's room. He will sleep on the blown up mattress in the twin's room. He opened the door to Phoebe and Daisy's room but there was no blown up mattress! Damn it! He sighed and closed the door softly behind him. Phoebe and Daisy giggled quietly beneath their blankets. Louis did not realize that his four sisters were actually awake and had planned to leave him only one choice. He walked down the hall and stopped at Harry's door. He knocked softly and opened the door as quietly as he could. They had slept in the same bed before when they had friends stay over at their flat. It shouldn't feel weird or different but it did. It felt awkward because Louis had admitted his feelings to Harry and clearly Harry did not feel the same way about him. He was tempted to go and sleep on the couch but he remembered that his aunt Sally had dropped wine on one of the cushions and his mother had taken it out to clean it and left to dry in the laundry room.

He huffed quietly and closed the door, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness. Harry was asleep curled up on his side. Very quietly Louis took off his jeans and sweater and got into bed in his boxers and t-shirt. Harry shifted and woke up when he felt the bed dip.
