Mrs Smith POV

A humid Tuesday - great there goes sport! I love sport, well I love moving around and communicating with my students and colleagues elsewhere from the classroom. You could say because of the teenage stench gathered in the classroom that's always covered by the scent of strong and reeking deodorant. Tuesdays are generally quite chill days though. Well at work to say the least. I barely have any classes and get to end the day with sport - stress-free, who wouldn't enjoy that?

It was lunchtime and my staffroom was cramped, cramped and stuffy. The rain downgraded my mood, so I sat at my desk keeping my head down low eating a fresh caesar salad thinking about my plans for the weekend with my daughter Delia (Dels for short). There goes the bell, off to the hall I guess.

The sports teachers at the front were informing students about their options, I think. Yes, as a teacher I need to listen and always be quite attentive, but I zoned out - it was the weather, the dreadful grey skies and humidity. "7 to 10 Netball with Mrs Smith," Well that woke me up. I glanced over at the students sitting in front of me, a large group of girls from all 4 groups stood up. I was glad they wanted to join me this afternoon - although, I wasn't so sure what to do for sport due to the rain.

As we headed to the classroom a girl in the higher grades suggested playing silent ball, so I took up her suggestion and equipped balls for the game. After arriving at the classroom, I passed around a piece of paper for the girls to put their names and grade on as I explained the game. Once the paper came back to me I skimmed the list.

Penelope. That's a new one.

Kiana. Don't think I know her but a nice name, yet messy handwriting. I looked up to scan the room for any possible 'Kiana's', there were a few possibilities in my mind.

Brianna. I think I know this one, her handwriting is neat, very very neat.

Monica. Ahh, she's in my class - lovely student.

The girls began playing silent ball while I was by the side spectating. For some reason I felt like all eyes were on me, although they weren't - I tried to focus on the game rather than that. I wandered around the room, then sat on a tables surface, it was comfier you could say, and I continued to spectate.

My eyes suddenly fell to the floor, as my brain began to travel to a place in my head called 'stress', it's an awful place to attend. After getting myself out of it, my eyes slowly began to look back up to the game, where my eyes met with a girl;'s eyes; a girl who I don't know. I mean I've seen her around the school but a name wasn't coming to me. I gave her a smile, while my brain began to question whether this was Penelope, or Kiana, or even maybe Brianna - but I didn't think so. Hmm, interesting.
