Scott McCall was certainly not excited to find out a new kid started school, especially since something was off about him- something that clued him in to not being entirely human. He gets even more suspicious when his younger sister, Poppy, befriends the new kid.
Poppy McCall knew her brother wasn't normal He was always out, lying, making excuses, and getting hurt. She played it off as teenage boy hormones. Until, a new kid at school actually takes an interest in her, and starts making her look into her skepticism instead of looking past it.
Spencer thought he could start a new school, get used to it for a few months, then move. Just like usual, he would fuck things up and have to move. His aunt would look at him with that look like every other time. This time would be different, he thought. And it was- somewhat.
Scott does not like Spencer. He loves his sister.
