little background story: i moved from london to california with both my parents at the age of 11, because of my fathers new job. so everyone in high school knows me as the girl with an accent, which doesn't really bother me at all. some people love my accent.___________________________________
this day started off like any other. i went to school, i came back home with my best mate amy, and i sat there scrolling through my insta feed as amy was snapping her friends on snap. typical.
"omfg y/n check this out,"
amy shoves her phone in my face. it's a snap from her guy friend sam. but I'm not bothered to read it.
"come on what are you waiting for? just read it!"
she places her phone in my hand as i read the message: 'are you up for a party at my gaff? invite a mate if ya want'
i sigh as i lower the phone down. "i don't think this is a good idea"
"why not?"
"you barely know the dude, plus he's like wayy older than us" i say, still thinking about it.
"girl he's only 2 years older than us. it's not the end of the world. plus it's not like anything bad is going to happen, he's just my mate, who knows maybe you'll make a new friend as well! come onnn don't be boring," amy says in response, trying her hardest to convince me as she bellyflops onto the bed next to me.
"you know what. fuck it. maybe you're right, maybe it'll be great fun. when is this party?" i ask.
"good question, I'll ask him now," amy says. she grabs her phone and continues to snap sam. honestly I'm quite excited for this party, i rarely ever dress up to be honest, and now's my chance to make a good impression on other kids my age. by the way me and amy are just two 14 year old girls that go to sherman oaks in LA, nothing too shocking. as amy is finding out information about the party i continue to scroll through my instagram feed like i was earlier. i have nothing else to do really, no one seems to text me.
"the party is this saturday. oh yeah and i told sam that I'm gonna bring you with me, he said 'that's great. the more the merrier'. now you have no other choice but to come," amy informs me.
"sound. think we should figure out what we're going to wear since this 'party' is in two days." i say.
"great, let's go shopping. do you have enough money with you?" amy says.
"yup, let's go."
