Number fifteen never fails. At least that's what half the school was shouting after witnessing Jackson hit a home run three times in a row. I don't know where he got the luck but he's been riding on it for over twenty four hours.

"Should've been you. You have a strong throwing arm which means you have an even stronger swinging arm. You were a batter before you were a pitcher." Jiso gripped onto his shirt while Jinyoung tried to calm his nerves. I did a lot of watching these days. Too scared to really say anything to him.

Jinyoung hasn't been himself. Even with his secret girlfriend now being known by half the school she didn't attend. He's still not himself. "I'm a pitcher because I was a shit batter. It's actually a funny story though. I'll tell you later."

He pushed himself off the fence that separates us from the baseball field. Jiso sighed as she took his space and watched him walk away with his head down.

"He's frustrated. That's normal after a stressful game. Right?" I nodded quickly while nervously looking at her. "You know him better than I ever will. Any clue what's wrong with him?"

"Stress." I played with the strings of my hoodie. "Like you said."

Jiso, her perfectly cut hair and cartoon shaped eyes, she was sad. I couldn't deal with a sad best friend and his sad girlfriend. "Sometimes I'm wrong."

Just as expected. She walked away. Head hung low and in the opposite direction of Jinyoung which was the parking lot. She should be at school too but she drove here during her lunch break just to see him. The dedication. The fact that I shouldn't have been here to interrupt their moment.

"Jaebeom!" A voice called out to me and it made my spine tingle. A skinny lower classman by the nickname of BamBam walked over to me while clicking the button on his car remote to lock the doors. "I've been feeling bad for you lately. The news hasn't set well with my homies."

"What did I do now?" He laughed at my question. "I'm not even on the list anymore."

"We need costumes for this play and you're the only one who can knit a sweater fast enough to fit on the schools mascot."

Did I mention our mascot is a turtle.

"I... I've been busy. Moral support and shit like that. Jinyoung is going through stuff and he needs me to know that I'm there. I got best friend duties. You know how that is." He and Yugyeom have been close since diaper days. The world knows this and I always have managed to get out of a lot using that reference. "Please."

"Not this time. This is important to me. Me and Yugyeom. See you tomorrow after school. Teddy Turtle likes pink by the way."
