Spider-Women

Part 1: Gwen (Yelena's POV)

I watched as Spider-Man clutched at Gwen's body, crying, begging her to wake up...

"Peter.." I mumbled, walking towards him.

"No! Go away..." He yelled.

I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces.

"I needed you, I really did and you were nowhere." Peter said.

"Peter, you tried to save her and failed, do not bring me into this." I said.

I know he is hurting, but that doesn't mean he can drag me into this.

He set her body on the floor and he got up.

"As Spider-Women you failed on your part, Yelena." He said, looking me dead in the eyes.

The suit I am wearing now.. showing that I am Spider-Women, is disappointing. He has a point, if I would have been here I could have saved her.

I slowly backed away and I watched him put his mask back on. I put my hand up and web came out and I looked back at Peter one last time and I left.

A week or so later

I visited Gwen's grave, it was beautiful and had many flowers placed around it. I set down my own bouquet of flowers and I smiled a little.

"I'm so sorry... Rest in peace." I said.

I got up and I slammed right into something, making me stumble.

Peter..

"Sorry." I said, I kept my head low, and walked away.

"Yelena, wait." Peter said.

"I am retiring as Spider-Women, please no longer contact me." I said and I looked at his face.

He was so handsome, but the look on his face broke my heart. He looked hurt...

"You can't do that." He said.

"I can, Peter, and I will." I said.

"I need your help, you can't just up and leave on me." Peter said.

"I can't do anything right, so there is no point in me being Spider-Women. I may have been bitten by a radioactive spider, but that doesn't make me Spider-Women." I said.

He looked at me, speechless. I sighed and I pulled out a bag from my coat.

"Here." I said. "Don't open it until you're home."

He looked at the bag, then at me. I walked away and not once did I look back.

My suit is in that bag.. the one him and I made together..

It hurt to see it go.. but it's for the best.
