Life-size pine tree models;
Things - such a broad statement
A wonderful thought

This was a prompt, and I made it difficult for myself by making it a Haiku. Yay. Here's a freestyle-poem-version.

The life-size town model buzzed with fake folks
They don't exist, yet they are wonderfully alive
They are but mere things- not breathing nor moving
But they are somehow wonderful just the same

The clock strikes 12 outside the door
And a creak sounds from the hall
As you run to hide from the unknown shadow
Yet you find out it's just a tree

You place another building on the fake, white, fluffy snow
No, that doesn't work
And you take it out of the pseudo-world

Still pretty random, but I like it. Here's the prompt I used:

Include as many of the following words (or variations on these words) as you like:

things—, lifesize, wonderful

Also:

Include a phrase you heard recently in conversation
Include one or more types of tree
Mention one or more unusual or interesting animals
