Well um...

This is bad.

You were biting your nails, frantically looking into your room through the small creak you had made, closet doors slightly ajar giving you a small glimpse of your bedroom.

If it wasn't already bad that Alastor was looking for you all over, you were back in the closet. Again.

For the past two weeks, you had been aggressively avoiding the deer demon, who seemed to be on your tail every time you stood still. Right now, however, you heard his calls echoing in the halls of the hotel, effectively scaring the daylights out of you every time they reverberated through the hallways. You were sitting in your closet, snacking away at your nails and getting overwhelmed by anxiety.  It was a great day, really.

You'd heard (and experienced) that Alastor preferred not to chase his preys.
You really wished that he'd held onto that preference, and not chase you every second he had to spare. Well, you guessed it was your fault for engaging in this war you accidentally started.

Nobody ruins another's food without paying for it dearly.

You dared not sigh at reminiscing the memories that, despite being made not ago, still haunted your mind.
Your breath hitched slightly, hearing his nonchalant voice growing clearer and clearer, making your hand rest on your lips in fear of letting a noise slip, your teeth hooking on your lips in anxiety.

"Oh (Y/N)~ I know you're in there." Alastor's voice rung out,  a knocking at your door.

Your face felt ghost-white, and you prayed to whatever god was out there (ironic, I know) that you would get out of this in one piece.

How did this harmless quest turn into Alastor hunting you down?

Suddenly, an idea popped into your mind.

What if you surprised Alastor with a surprise attack in the midst of him finding you?

A grin found its way upon your face, and you silently stood up, the rustling of clothes mildly concerning you before you brushed it off again. You wanted him to find you.

Turning on your best 'scared act' wasn't that difficult, because the gnawing anxiety of a failed plan was still eating away at your momentary bravery.

A tight smile played on your lips, and you took a deep breath before gently grasping the doorknob.

And there he stood, in all his confused glory. His hand was raised for another knock, and it was evident on his frozen face that he definitely was not expecting you to just... open the door like that. Well, he never liked it when his prey ran.

"There you are, darling. Been standing here for a good thirty seconds already." He cleared his throat, obviously confused at your odd actions.

Seeing you standing there, tight-lipped smile, stance a bit too relaxed for comfort brought back the mission you had set out on. He brushed his discomfort aside, not letting this silly anxiety rule him. Stepping around you, he made his way into your room. You coming to him naturally had killed the thrill of this game, and he was frankly not interested in his previously thought out plans if you were just going to lay down for him.

He sat on your bed, and you raised a brow at him.

"Previous plans aborted?" You teasingly asked, fully aware of you killing the mood.

Well, it's not your fault, you were perfectly fine not being stuck in a permanent game of hide and seek with Alastor.

He gave a small sigh, and tiredly looked at you.

"Just do it."

You blinked a couple times, opening your mouth to ask what the hell he was talking about.

"The ridiculous, fruitless, pathetic attempt of continuing this childish mission of yours."

If not for the playful undertone you might've actually gotten offended.

"Mmm. Okay." You sat next to him, reaching on of your hands to his head.

He slaps your hand away, and you gasp offendedly.

"You said do it!"

"I never said I'd let you do it."

You pouted at him, still glancing at his ears which twitched slightly atop his head.

An idea crossed your mind, and you mischievously smirked at the thought.

Alastor picked up your change of mood, and cut you off before you could say something;

"Shush. No. Whatever you're thinking, it's not gonna work." You looked at Alastor seriously, and bit the finger he had brought to your mouth.

While he was recovering from the betrayal, you quickly yelled out to Charlie.

"Charlie, Alastor has a secret venison stash under th-" A hand had clamped onto your mouth, and you looked back slightly to see Alastor glaring at you, grin turning into a strained smile.

"You promised to keep that a secret." He growled out.

You shrugged, removing his hand; "My parents never kept their promises, kind of a bad influence."

He sighed tiredly, glancing at you. "I'm gonna have a talk with your parents one of these days."

You snorted. "Lmao, no."

He stared at you confusedly, maybe because you just said lmao in real life dialogue, which was a really weird Gen-Z thing to do.

You had really wondered for a second how this situation went from so serious to so playful in mere minutes, but you shrugged the thought away. It didn't matter now, so you just enjoyed the first casual moment you had with Alastor in a week.

You'd glanced at his ears a couple times already, but quickly shut the thought out. You had already attempted today, guess you could try again tomorrow.

"You wanna go get choco milk?" You gave him a genuine smile, and he returned it.

"Of course, dear."
