It was then that Kimiko got upset with Raimundo, not for acting like a bully to poor, little Omi, but for how the Brazilian guy worded what he had said to their little monk friend.
Kimiko Tohomiko: Raimundo Pedrosa!
Raimundo would have never openly admitted to it, but the Brazilian dragon of the wind was secretly a sucker for Kimiko's pleasure and wanted nothing more than to oblige to her scolding at the time.
Raimundo Pedrosa: OK, OK, you're right, Kim... sor-ry, O-mi!
Omi might have been naïve enough to trust anyone just about everyone he had ever met, but not even the sheltered little cheeseball monk bought Raimundo's 'clearly impure and insincere' apology that he was obviously only giving to the little bald monk to get out of the doghouse with the cute little Japanese girl from their team.
Kimiko Tohomiko: I don't mean to rain on your parade, Rai, but I'm pretty sure that the look on Omi's face might just mean that not even he believes you're really sorry about making fun of him.
Raimundo Pedrosa: Alright, Alright, Kimiko, you're right about that. I guess I could make up for it by explaining why Omi lost in the first place.
Clay, Kimiko and Omi all growled at Raimundo collectively.
Raimundo Pedrosa (continued): You see, Omi, it's like this. The first red flag against you that you should've noticed was the rope that was around Clay's belt. Since Clay would wear a rope around his belt for the norm, however, you saw no threat to your victory in it. There was also Clay not even once fighting back during the training battle for even one of the times you knocked the cowboy down. The big guy also had a chance to tie a loop through his belt rope for every time you knocked Clay down, which meant that when you fixed to 'unleash your final strike' which was that jump kick of yours...
With where the Brazilian teenage dragon of the wind was going with his explanation, realization suddenly hit Omi like a brick to the head.
Omi: I GAVE CLAY AN OPEN ADVANTAGE!
Clay also saw what Raimundo was saying about what Omi had done wrong in the battle that led to his defeat.
Clay Bailey: Yeah, he's right, little buddy. Listen to what Rai's telling ya.
Raimundo Pedrosa: Exactly, Omi. You get me now?
Kimiko hated the idea of Raimundo being right, but she was just as convinced as the others that their Brazilian Shoku Warrior was without a doubt correct in what he had explained to Omi even when he could not apologize to the little bald monk.
Kimiko Tohomiko: You see, Omi, Rai's just telling you to be more aware during battle.
Kimiko helped Omi to his feet as she told the little monk what Raimundo was really trying to say to the bald little guy.
Omi: I suppose you are right, Kimiko. You are correct, too, Raimundo.
Raimundo was so focused on Omi and especially Kimiko acknowledging him as a knowledgeable warrior that he had almost missed Clay say to him...
Clay Bailey: It's gettin' late, Rai. We better pick two more challengers from the bowl before we turn in fer the night.
It was at that moment when Raimundo finally came back to reality and heard what Clay had said.
Raimundo Pedrosa: Right, Clay! So, who are they?
