The last time Stevie had been late for work had been because a traffic accident had shut down the westbound lanes of Loop 202. Wade didn't want to hear her excuse. He only wanted to chastise her. Acting like her car should've transformed into a helicopter to get her to work on time.

Tonight, Vince shared culpability for her delay. Not to say she hadn't enjoyed each sweaty thrust of his magnificent cock. Or, the feel of their lathery bodies slipping and sliding over each other as the bathroom became a foggy hollow. Or, witnessing him trying to eat a turkey sandwich with an adorable stupid grin plastered across his face.

Twenty minutes late in exchange for inserting some fun into her life—so worth it.

She paced outside the meeting room with a cell phone to her ear. "Great. I'll let you know when I'm ready to go. Thanks, Fred." She flipped the phone shut, rolled her shoulders back, and strode into the meeting room.

"Ms. Daniels," Vince said, glaring over the frames of his glasses. "How nice of you to join us this evening."

The gleam in his eyes breathed fire between her legs. Under her business suit, a flutter made her stomach quiver. Pornographic snippets flashed in her mind's eye, one after another, turning her legs to melting butter. Helpless to block the eruption of heat rushing up her neck, Stevie brought a fist to her mouth and coughed. "Sorry, I've been busy following up on the Dern case." She took up a position opposite her paramour and gripped the back of Ryan's chair for support.

Vince crossed his arms. "And?"

"Detective Raush received permission for us to run a luminal test. Tonight." She placed her hands on Ryan's shoulders. "If you don't mind, I'd like to take Mr. Parker with me."

"Now you want him?" Sarcasm dripped off Vince's words.

"Yes. Yesterday, I didn't need the additional task of keeping him from falling off the side of the mountain. Tonight, I have an entire house to look at. And it's on flat ground."

"Fine, take him." Vince pushed his glasses back into place. "Everyone else, get to work." He hustled out of the room.

"Damn," Ryan said. "Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed."

"Come, Mr. Parker." Stevie tapped his shoulders. "We have more important things to discuss than Supervisor Vasher's bed."

Funny, he'd never complained she was on his side of the bed. Hell, he didn't complain about anything.

"You know," Ryan said from behind. "You guys don't have to fight over me. There's plenty to go around."

As she walked to her office, Stevie's bottom lip trembled. Earlier, while rushing to get home, she'd naively surmised that her altered relationship with Vince would have little impact on her at work. Wrong! Between the naughty factor of their taboo affair, and his fictitious irritation with her tardiness, all erogenous zones were on full arousal.
