Chapter one

The Remembering and The First Day

Flashback  

"Mom when I get older i want to help people." Said Amy , wide-eyed looking up at her mom through her long eyelashes, "That's a lovely idea." Said  Amanda. "But" she added, "you must sleep for now and when you wake up you can tell me all this big idea"

End of flashback 

"Okay, you can do this." I said to myself as I was standing in the elevator. " I totally can't do this." I said second guessing myself, but it was to late, the elevator stops and opens to revel the big glass doors leading to the BAU. I walk out of the elevator to the door and stop, I take a shaky breath in and open the door. As I walk in people stop to look at who opened the door, some don't even pay me a second glance.

I walk up to dark skinned man and ask, "excuse me do you know where agent Hotchner's office is?" He turns around looks me up and down and says, " you must be the new agent, his office is up the stairs to the right." "thank you" I say, "no problem".

As I'm walking towards the steps I can feel everyone slowly look up at me, I feel their eyes as I'm walking up up the stairs. I get to the door, flatten my hair, straiten my outfit and fix my posture to make myself look more official. "Please be the right door." I pray. I knock and here a muffled "come in". I walk in and sit down, he looks me up and down, studying me like the man i met before did. "You're agent Lark correct?" He asks. " Yes sir" I say, "please call me Hotch" He says. "Alright" I say.

Meanwhile

" Who's that?" Asks JJ. "I think that's the new agent" says Spencer. " It is I just talked to her" Derek says. "Oh" says Spencer. "Why, You interested?" Says Derek with a smirk. "No-no she's just- I've never met her and besides don't you think it's a little to early to have a replacement for Elle I mean-" He was cut off by Hotch and Amy exiting the office.

In The Office

"Well i've looked at your paper work that was sent in and I think you are a great fit for the team, would you like to go meet everyone?" He asks. "That-That's it?" I question with suspicion. "Yes unless you would like a longer, drug-on interview." He says with a eyebrow raised. "No sir- Hotch" I say with a smile. 

As we exit the office everyone stops what they are doing to look at us. Once we get to the bottom of the stairs he introduces me to the rest of the team " everyone this is agent Amy Lark she is the new addition to the team." A blond lady gives me a kind smile and says " I'm Jenifer Jareau but you can call me JJ and this is Derek Morgan" she points to the man I talked to earlier. "So that was his name." I thought. "And this is-" she was interrupted, "Penelope Garcia" said a bubbly blonde woman, "nice to meet you." I go to give her a hand shake but she pulls me in to a hug. "We are going to be great friends!" She exclaims. " as I was saying"  JJ says with a shake of her head and a small smile, "this is Garcia" " you will meet Gidon later" "and this is our resident genius Doctor Spencer Reid." Unlike everyone else he gave me a glare instead of a smile and turns away. Hotch clears his throat and says " your desk is next to Reid's." " Great" I thought. He adds "if you would please do the paperwork on your desk." "Of course." I say as I sit down and begin.

A few hours have passed and I can feel my hand cramping up. I finish the last paper I have and sigh "finally." Hotch comes out of his office and says " You all can go home now." I see everyone packing up so I do the same. I walk out the door and into the elevator along with Spencer. He acknowledged me with a head nod but that was it. It was awkward for a while so i tried to make conversation, but right as I did the elevator stopped and he rushed out the door to leave. As i got in my car I had two things on my mind "That was the most boring first day ever" and " Why does Spencer Reid hate me?"

This is my first time writing a fic or anything actually besides for school so I hope you enjoy :)
