How did any woman resist this man? Just say no to him I said, he'll leave you alone I said, stupid, stupid, stupid. Why did he have such an effect on me, he always managed to persuade me one way or another. Whether it was as simple as a date by the beach or as complicated as bungee jumping, which I highly assure you it was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. But that story is for another time, back to me.
Maybe I should just do it, like who would care? Stupid question, I would. Maybe this once I should be care free and not think about the repercussions. Gosh did I learn anything from Cole? Men that were too good looking always had a nasty end.
But he seemed so nice these past few days, a gentleman in fact. He took me sightseeing to places that were highly above my pay grade that you practically paid for the air breathed in. He pampered me taking me out to exquisite places that he made sure I didn't pay a cent for. Best of all he didn't push me beyond anything I wasn't ready or willing to give him.
I was supposed to be here trying to mend a broken heart but no my heart went and chose him, his mocha brown eyes that make every woman bow down to him. NO stop it, stop thinking about him. You're going home tomorrow, why not go for it! No, no, no! The last thing I need is a horrible reminder of Cole.
Cole. Cole with his flowing raven hair and stunning grey eyes, his tall, body that filled out a suit nicely and that handsome face that would make my breathe hitch every time he opened his mouth to call me beautiful. That was until I found him in bed with his damn secretary. Wow didn't that sound ironic, didn't those things only exist in movies? Apparently not since it happened to me.
It killed me every day as I thought about it. The fact that he had no shame and asked me to join them was incredibly disgusting and wrong on so many levels. Ever since that day now six months ago my life had turned sideways, not like it wasn't already before, it was just more complicated and out of control, if you get what I mean. I was closing to thirty and I needed someone. Stupid love why are you always out to destroy me? What have I ever done to you? Now you have left me depressed, broke and heartbroken. Thank you love.
So why not have a fling? What's the worst that could happen? Besides contracting a harmful disease and dying before I have my happy ending. Oh please help me brain, no not you heart as you have failed me once too many times. Besides I'm on holiday I might never see him again plus he could be worth it.
I have to bravely admit to myself that after coming here things have been looking up for me. As a journalist I earn enough money for myself. Then to win an all expenses trip to the Bahamas it was a dream come true and it couldn't have come at a better time.
Meeting Tyler Grant the first night I was there was like a miracle. Of course I rejected him out right, but he kept pursuing me first asking for her favourite colour and then cautiously asked if she had a boyfriend which she clearly gave him no answer. Like he had the whole bar and restaurant full of women staring at him as if he was a piece of meat, but no he had chosen me.
I forced myself to look in the mirror. Staring back I noticed my first wrinkle, in my eyebrow of all places. I groaned. My hair was brown, wavy and shoulder length nothing amazing there I was just an average girl. I had a small heart shaped face with a cute button nose, high cheekbones that I always liked. My eyes were by far my best feature. Sometimes there were green depending on her mood or sometimes a vivid blue. I had a moderate height and weight. I knew I wasn't the prettiest person in the world but I also knew I wasn't the ugliest.
A knock on the door scared the living hell out of me. I quickly checked myself in the mirror hoping he wouldn't notice the wrinkle and rushed to the door. I took a deep breath and opened it. There he was standing in a fitting button down shirt that hugged him well and don't get me going about his smile, oh his killer smile it could literally power a house for a month.
"Hey Adison" he said with a smirk as he took me all in, yeah sleep with a man you didn't give your full name to! I stifled a groan, shut up heart you are not part of this. He revealed a single white rose. I had a big grin on my lips, he remembered. See I have this thing were I'm not into red roses like other girls I just think it's a bit cliché, white roses are simple, plain and are also beautiful in every way. I think that's why I like them, maybe it's because they in a way describe me.
"Hey" I said biting my lip as a blush tinted my cheeks. I took the rose and stared at it, why did he have to be perfect, huh I hate my life. I invited him in as I quickly went to put the rose on my bedside table. "You ready?" he leaned casually against the door frame of my bedroom with a broad smile on his face.
He was tall and broad with golden, sun kissed skin it was like the gods themselves were punishing us for being so disappointing. His chest was something I could have stared at for days. It was sculpted, rock hard and mouth-watering temptation even though it was covered. But I remembered from every time we were at the beach or the pool the way his muscles just popped. His arms practically bulged out of the shirt he was wearing and to be honest I found it hard keeping my hands to myself. Samantha Adison Storme you control yourself you dirty minded girl!
He was so much better looking than Cole that I was definitely sure of, he handled himself very well. From his shaggy blonde hair only added to his charm and with those lips so pink just daring me to just pull his face closer to mine and kiss him.
"Ready as I'll ever be" I said as I brushed my hair off my cheek. "Come on" he said as he extended his arm so I could hold it. I reached out to him and held his hand. He pulled me closer, I was suddenly startled by the sudden closeness.
He tipped my chin up and stared into my eyes with a heated look. He lowered his mouth onto mine and kissed me. I was literally internally screaming to the heavens, I felt at bay with his hands around my waist and the heavenly taste of his lips on mine.
"Sorry I had to do that, I wanted to make sure this was real." His words made my knees weak, I swear if he wasn't holding me I would have melted into a puddle. "Now before I get distracted we better go" Tyler gestured to the door and tried to keep his eyes off of me.
"So where are we going?" I asked curiously as he led me to the lift. "Well if you don't mind I thought we would have something in the cottages by the beach." He said calmly, "A cottage?" I said with a little shock "Yeah" he didn't look that surprised when I looked like I wanted to choke, but who could blame me the hottest guy I've ever met wanted to have dinner with me in a COTTAGE, I'm sorry its either I'm too innocent to think of anything nasty but I think something is going to happen tonight.
"Are you done being shocked yet?" he asked with a small chuckle, I smiled and slightly slapped his chest "I just wanted to spend time with you before you left, unless I can convince you not to" he said with a hopeful smile.
"Sorry I have to go back to work" I said as I shook my head. "Fine then can I at least drop you off tomorrow at the airport?" he asked with a sigh, "Well see" I said with a shrug as we just got off the lifts.
