Athena pushed the row of dresses aside. A pale pink dress caught her attention from the other side of the room. Her friend Darla hastily brushes past every dress, she believes she'll never find a dress for prom.

"Darla, come here I think I found it"

A friend of theirs tagged along. As the girly girl of the group her job was the hardest. Darla hated everything with sparkles. Athena knew fashion but chose to ignore it. She was never one to follow trends, they bore her. The one time she would is when the trend follows something she's been wearing for years.

Darla's face fell as her friend showed her a bright pink dress with cuts everywhere. The back is completely gone with cuts along the stomach.

"How would I even put this on? I'm not even sure this is school appropriate"

"Oh like you care Darla"

Athena was horrified by the color not just the style. Pulling the dress off the rack, she pulls Darla into the dressing room and hands her it. Their friend sits across in the mini coach set next to the runway.

"Hazel don't be mad she doesn't have your body. Only you can pull off that dress"

Darla grunts from the dressing room are mixed from anger to agreement. Hazel and Athena laugh enjoying that Darla is allowing them to help.

The curtain is barely pushed back as Darla comes out. The pale pink and ivory colors compliments her skin tone. Pale pink and ivory pieces of chiffon run down to make a high low skirt while ivory flower appliques decorate the bodice and top of the skirt. Her cap sleeves are made up of the ivory chiffon.

Hazel is the first to help her onto the runway. Athena pulls the dress to fit her figure, Darla has a flat chest compared to her friends.

"Do you like it?"

Darla nods her head then hug both Hazel and Athena. "Thank you so much Athena" Hazel huffs before Darla can finish the sentence.

Darla decides to buy the dress. The shop they were in was in a busy shopping center. Barely anytime to cross the three girls run as soon as they could.

Honk!

"Athena wake your lazy butt up, the wedding will go on with or without you"

Her roommate Harris bangs on her door. She can't believe it's her last day in the apartment with him.

"I'm the bride, it can't happen without me"

Quickly showering and throwing on some sweats, she opens her door where she is attacked by her mother, aunt, grandmother, and four bridesmaids. Her mother is the first to scold her.

"Even on your wedding day you're late"

Athena rolls her eyes then kisses her mother's cheek. The plan was to ride over to the church then get ready.

"Your dress is in my car" Darla exclaims. As Athena's maid of honor she had taken care of anything Athena didn't, which wasn't much. Athena is a bit of a perfectionist wanting everything to go her way.

Everyone files out the apartment's main door but Athena is stopped by Harris. He hands her a box, its heavy on its own.

"Harris you know you don't have to. I hate gifts remember"

He shrugs. Opening the box reveals a gun.

"Remember if you don't want him later today I want him" he laughs. She knows he's dead serious though. "This came for you too, I'm not sure what it is but it's not as heavy"

He slides her a long box with a black card attached. Picking up the card first she reads it.

'Harris give this to cupcake on her wedding day'
