This is my first Croods fanfiction. I watched the whole movie and enjoyed it, one of my favorite DreamWorks movies. I haven't seen the sequel (as of now) but I watched another caveman themed movie called "Early Man" which honestly didn't look as good but I only watched the beginning so maybe I'm misjudging. I heard that the same people who did Chicken Run also worked on Croods (and some of them went to work on Early man, I think. I don't know the story, I just know one of those movies has a connection to chicken run) but I don't get chicken run vibes from either movie. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed The Croods. I liked the hidden messages and I loved each character. I kind of get slight Chicken Run-ish vibes from the Croods in the way that the movie is set up. Anyway, this is a Christmasy Croods fanfiction. And before you go "Hey how can they be celebrating Christmas before Jesus was born" and the answer is, that we don't know when The Croods takes place, and cavemen still exist today... We'll assume that Guy talked about it to the Croods family and they celebrate Christmas now. Don't ask anymore questions or look into it too deeply, this is just a fanfiction for pure enjoyment. Maybe i'll write a fanfiction on Early Man next! Who knows? (also btw none of these movie do they talk like cavemen so I'm making them say modern English words)
Update: I saw the new Croods 2 New Age movie and I loved it. I'm including Dawn and her family in this fanfiction.
Anyway, here goes:
So even though the Croods are cavepeople, they are celebrating Christmas because they heard others spread the message of Jesus and feel like they should try and celebrate too. It's weird to see cavemen celebrate Christmas but don't look at it too deeply.
"Guy, look at this gem I found! Do you think my sister, Eep, will like it?" asked Thunk. "I'm sure she will, kiddo" said Guy as he strung dried berries onto a string. Thunk did a little dance, "Yay!" and went to get some wrapping "paper" which was made from colorful giant leaves. Eep came out of the cave, dressed in the craziest clothes. Her "dress" was made from the hyde of a sabertooth bear, she wore a belt made from albino eagle feathers (relax, it's not an American eagle, plus the feathers were already ones she found on the ground) and she had red and green "ornaments" made of natural clay, hanging off her dress.
"Woah, Eep! Where'd you get that?" Thunk exclaimed in awe over her sense of fashion. Guy was impressed too. The clothes were not very practical, but they looked cool. It was Christmas, afterall. Give her a break! Of course, she was still wearing those shoes that guy had made her before. Mum (I forget her name) and Dad (Grug) came out while mum had the baby in her arms. "Baby Sandy is hungry, please give her a treat!" said mum. "Ah, I have the perfect treat for her!" Guy handed her a little frozen ball wrapped in a mint leaf, but what it was, was an orange and water frozen into a ball of ice, and wrapped in a mint leaf. Baby Sandy loved it so much that she reached her little hands out for more, but Guy only gave her one more and put the wooden tray out of her reach. Grug walked in, "What kind of contraptions did you cook up this time?" and sat on the ground while the huge sabertooth cat came up to him and rubbed against him. "Oh honey! It's only lemon and water mixed together with a mint leaf wrapped around it" said Mrs Crood. "Why is it frozen?" asked Grug. "I froze it in the ice cave near the snowy mountain," said Guy. "Hmmm. I don't trust the snowy mountain?" said Grug as he scratched behind the sabertooth cat's ear. Guy ate one of the refreshing frozen treats while Grug gave him a look. "Why don't you get some of those other fruits?" said Mrs Crood. Grug took one of the other fruits and gave Guy the death stare.
Later, Eep called Dawn over (literally called for her, like yelled for her to come) and the girls discussed how they would dress up for Christmas. Dawn's was used to her "modern" style and Eep was used to her caveman style but the girls could try to come up with a cute Christmas fashion look to what they had. They obviously didn't have actual makeup back then. "Here, I have a great idea!" said Dawn as she took a lemon juice, berry juice, mixed with dried red flower petals that were crushed up, and put some on her lips and cheeks. Eep started getting all happy and jumping up and down, squealing "Eeee! You look so cute! I want to look cute too!" and went to rub her hands in the mixture. "Hold on, Eep! Let me show you what to do first!" then she pointed to what colors look good on what part of the face, and what goes where. There were a bunch of different colored natural pigments for her to mess up with. Eep ended up putting yellow pigment from yellow flowers on her cheeks and rubbed a blueberry on her lips. Yeah, you do you, girl! For a cavegirl, her look was kind of giving off good vibes. She wanted Guy to notice her... and oh boy he will!
