"Emmy! You're never going to believe this!" My best friend cried as she burst through the door into my room. I couldn't tell if the look on her face was one of alarm or joy.

"Um," I mumbled as Aria sat down on my bed. I twisted around in my chair to face her.

"I got tickets!" she screamed, and I instantly shot up.

"Tickets? Tickets to where?" I gasped, moving over to sit next to her. Aria grinned, proud of the fact that she'd gotten me excited about something.

"Oh, just a concert," she said dismissively. I sighed, knowing the game she was going to play.

"Ari, come on. Just tell me," I pleaded, leaning my head on her shoulder. She laughed, and I knew I'd broken through to her.

"All right. Tickets to the Fall Out Boy concert next month."

"Oh. My. God!" I screamed, jumping up from the bed. Aria laughed, pulling me right back down next to her. "Are you kidding me?" I laughed with her. She shook her head, pulling two tickets out of her back pocket.

"Nope. Not kidding. Consider them...an early birthday present," she grinned. I grabbed one of the tickets to check the date.

"No fucking way!" I whispered, seeing the date was my birthday. "Holy shit. How did you get these?" I asked, whipping my head around to face Aria. She just shrugged, a smirk on her face.

"I'm just that magical," she laughed, and I hugged her.

"Thank you," I said quietly, and she pulled away to look at me.

        "Don't mention it."

~Next Month~

"Emmy. Get your lazy ass down here!" Aria called from downstairs. I laughed, then slipped into a pair of black Vans and ran down the stairs. I paused to check myself in the mirror, smoothing down pieces of my boring old light brown hair. A pair of non-exciting dark brown eyes looked back at me.

"Coming Ari," I called, before meeting her at the door. "Shit! We won't be late, will we?" I gasped, one hand covering my mouth.

"No. Remember, we're leaving early to make sure we get there on time?" I nodded, and relaxed a bit. Then I remembered where we were going. A concert. With lots and lots of other people. I froze.

"You know, is it too late to find somebody else to go with?" I said, a shaky tone to my voice. Aria turned to look at me, concerned.

"C'mere, Em," she said, holding out her arms. I came closer to her and she wrapped me into a hug. "We'll be fine, okay? I'll be right next to you the whole time. If you feel uncomfortable, we can go, all right?" she whispered into my ear. I nodded to show my understanding, and she stepped away, smiling. I knew perfectly well that I wasn't going to annoy her at the concert and tell her I needed to leave, but she didn't know that.

"Then let's go." I forced a smile, hoping that my voice didn't sound too strained, and walked out to her car. We got in and she pulled out of the driveway and we started off towards the concert. We blasted Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance loudly as we drove along the highway. Aria pulled up to where the concert was going to be. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart and squirming stomach, before I got out of the car and followed Aria.
