As Y/n and Harry step through, the archway shrinks instantly into a solid wall. All around them, they see mothers and fathers with children in tow, clutching lists similar to their own.
"Seventeen Sickles an ounce for Dragon Liver, can you imagine? They're mad!"Says a plump woman.
"It says brass, Trevor. As such, you will get brass,"States Trevor's mother.
"There it is! The Nimbus Two Thousand! Runs a good twenty times faster than the old Comets. Neil Marks himself rides it for the Chudley Cannons."A boy exclaims.
"Mind you don't drop your bottle of eel's eye, Belinda, I'll not buy you another." Says Belinda's mother.
Harry and Y/n try to take in everything at once, marveling at shops specializing in everything from cauldrons, owls and broomsticks to robes, 'unmentionables,' and spell books.
"Dragon Liver? Do they mean from a real dragon?"-Harry
"Well, they don't mean a ruddy penguin. Crikey, I'd like a dragon."-Hagrid
"You'd like a dragon?"-Y/n
"Vastly misunderstood beasts, Y/n. Vastly misunderstood..."-Hagrid
"But how are we to pay for all this, Hagrid? We haven't any money."-Harry
Hagrid gestures to a towering snow-white building ahead.
"There's yer money. Gringotts. Wizard's Bank. No place safer, yeh two. Not one. 'Cept perhaps Hogwarts."
One hundred goblins sit on high stools at a long counter, scribbling in ledgers, weighing coins in brass scales. As Harry,Y/n and Hagrid enter, a clever-looking goblin closes the door behind them, watches their every step.
"Uh, Hagrid, what exactly was that?"-Harry
"Yer basic Door Goblin. Clever as they come goblins, but not yer most friendly beasts. Best stay close."
"Mornin'. Mr. Harry Potter and Miss Y/n Black wish to make a withdrawal."Says Hagrid to a Goblin.
"And do Mr. Harry Potter and Miss Y/n Black have their keys?"
"Let's see, got 'em 'ere somewhere..."
The Goblin looks on disfavorably as Hagrid rifles his coat, producing in rapid succession: a jangly ring of keys, one ball of string, a fistful of mint humbugs, two teabags, and a moth...which simply flutters from one pocket to another.
"Ah, 'ere are the li'l devils."
"There's another matter as well. I've got a letter from Professor Dumbledore. It's about the You-Know-What in Vault You-Know-Which."Whispers Hagrid to the Goblin.
"Very well. I'll have Griphook take you."
...a swarthy, slit-eyed goblin, driving a small cart with white-knuckle precision down a stone passageway lit with flaming torches. They plunge deeper, come whistling to a halt before a small door. Griphook steps out, takes Harry's key and unlocks the vault, revealing - great glittering pyramids of coin. Then he takes Y/n's key and unlocks the vault next to Harry's.

Harry and Y/n were speechless."Din' think yer parents would leave yeh with nothin', did yeh?"
