Maybe I'll See You

We're drifting apart lately

Its like you don't feel it

Everything we've had

Didn't know distance could steal it

I hear from you less

I'm emptier, day to day

Your silence feels toxic

I have so much still to say

A good thing turned bad

We couldn't keep it straight

inevitable circumstance

I guess we're just too late

I poured out my soul to you

You wept with me a tear or two

Almost made me feel brand new

Your compassion pierced me through and through.

You were perfect once

I'd wait for you

But you'd never ask

I'd do anything for you

Taking steps back

And not many forward

Our different paths

This thing's become cornered

I'll think less about you

And maybe ill feel better

Because its hard to live through

A text or a letter

Good luck to you

Good luck to me

Maybe ill see you...

What will be, will be

A poem based on true events.
