Chapter 1: Truly Homed

Sinclaire came from a rich family where the topical parents in the stories are always busy with their company to grow and because Oliveros is in their hands that one of the known families in this country, they need to take care of it first as their priority, and just like how understanding Sinclaire parents raised her, she respect their jobs and responsibilities.
︎

Many business personnels wanted their company as their partner, their family resonated this whole industry—mention their names and you'll immediately praise. They are more than just a artists, politics, or someone has professions, perhaps, more wealthy than them?

All the eyes were staring at them above, the cameras are clicking and shining towards them. They got many achievements and furture ones.

Ganoon na lang din karami ang pinapangarap na makapasok sa kanilang kumpanya, just because it has the best employees in the world with a high amount of salary, ang iba ay nagkakandarapa para lang matanggap at makuha ang kanilang inaasam na trabaho; na kahit akala mo ay ikaw na ang pinaka magaling—when they reject you, your world will shattered, but no one knows who's just a good actor that want to betray her parents just to get the company in their hands.
︎ ︎

When it comes to business world marami ka ring kalaban, o kaya naman minsan iyong akala mong kakampi at maaasahan mo ay ang tao ring tataksil sa iyo. Maraming beses na ito nangyari that's why her parents are working hard 24/7 a whole day upang hindi na muli maulit.

They have many branches around the world to handle kaya kadalasan din dilat ang kanilang mga mata buong araw. But unlike others who're being stubborn and brat, she fancies what their job is, she adores her parents, at kapalit niyo they give her the life she wants and she deserves her. But she doesn't take advantage of it because that was her parents taught her to.

  ︎ ︎ ︎ ︎ ︎ ︎ ︎
They didn’t spoil her and she's proud of it, na kahit gaano karangya ang buhay nila tinuruan pa rin siya ng kaniyang magulang paano maging makumbaba sa ibang tao. She is still happy with the fact that they can always spend their free time on her, whenever they're home halos wala nang magawa ang mga kasambahay dahil sila na mismo ang umaako ng gawain para lang pagsilbihan siya imbis na magpahinga.

  ︎
Sundays are the best day of the week for Sinclaire, where she can spend the whole day with her parents. They usually come home on Saturday night and they leave every Monday morning—depending on work, they're always going to the mall to bond, eating at some luxury restaurant or visiting their Grandpa at the mansion, and sometimes just spending their time watching movies at home. Napaka saya na iyon para sa kaniya.

  ︎ ︎
They will never forget to ask about how she is these past few days, they even request her to have a tutor so that she can focus more on her studies when they are not there with her, but she refused—it's no need to because she's always the top students on their classes, and they are so proud of her.

  ︎ ︎ ︎ ︎ ︎
She is so happy with that kind of daily basis as long as she can just be with them.
︎
  ︎
“Sinclaire sweetie, come here to the kitchen for a sec,” Sinclaire, on the other hand, sitting in the living room in front of the flat-screen TV that wasn't on, her eyes are on her phone, she looked up when Mommy called her and immediately got up to go to the kitchen.

She caught her at the countertop in the kitchen while wearing an apron wrapped around her waist, she is cooking something in front of her—her long brown hair is tied into a low messy ponytail, “What is it, Mom?” Sinclaire asked and held the small of her back and peek at what is she doing.
︎

Her mother smiles, “I’m gonna teach you how to cook your favorite food!” She said happily making her daughter smile too, "So when you grow up, you know how to cook for yourself.” She preached—she always says those words to her "when-you-grow-up" so it's easy for her to remember the things they always taught her.
︎

“Watch me first then you will do the next okay? Cook for us.” She giggles while staring at her, her tiny brown eyes was like hers; whenever they smile, it disappears.
︎ ︎

Sinclaire's mother: Ysabella looks like an international model, she has a small face and thin lips—she was a few years older already when Sinclaire was born but she still looked like in her twenties despite the wrinkles above both her chins and forehead. Even though Sinclaire's father: Rafael was her first love since they were young, Ysabella was thirty-five when she got pregnant with Sinclaire and her daughter is seventeen now.
︎

She inherits from her mother the brunette wavy hair up to her stomach and brown narrow eyes like a latte—also has a rounded face while to her skin tone at the scale of one to ten, ten has a pale skin: it's on five. She's not that white, tanned because of her Daddy.
︎

Sinclaire just stared at her while trying to remember the ingredients in her most favorite shrimp porridge dish, she will be her forever role model in life, “It smells good Mommy!” She exclaimed and look at her mother with sparkling eyes.

Ysabella caress her hair down to hug her waist while her other hand is holding the ladle for the soup, “I can't believe you are growing up too fast now,” She kissed her forehead, “You're the most precious thing that happened to me.” Sinclaire uncontrollable can't hold her wide smile and hugged her back.
︎ ︎

But suddenly tranquil music played in the living room that could be heard throughout the space of the house, and then abruptly there was just an arm wrapped around Ysabelle and her daughter's waist.
︎

“Hello, my angels.” It's Dad, who stepped in between them while watching how what they're doing.
︎ ︎

“Oh! Here you are, come on taste it.” Mommy turned to Daddy and held a spoon of porridge soup onto him. Daddy's eyes immediately twinkle at the same time hum loudly making them laugh.
︎

“It's always delicious because it's made by you.” Daddy flatters and slowly grabs Mommy’s waist, her mother laughs cheerfully and wrapped her arms around Dad’s neck while their hips are swaying around the rhythm of the melodic song.

They are both laughing and looking internally at each other's starry eyes, Dad likes to create some corny dad jokes but doesn't fail to make the two of them laugh as always.

Sinclaire was just looking at them and plastered a smile on her face that couldn't fade. She wants to see them like this more, the times when you have no problem to think about and just alone together, they started to get aged and she don't think she can do the things without them yet. She is not independent yet, she still wants to learn more, to explore more things with them so as much as possible she will treasure every day she can be with them. She promised to herself.

Malaki ang pamilyang Oliveros na gumawa ng sari-sariling pangalan hindi lang sa bansa kundi sa buong mundo, pero kahit na gano'n they're all close to each other. In her mother's and father's side are all close to her, they are like her siblings who always visit the house—even though she is the only child because her mother had a hard time giving birth to her so it no longer followed by another one, but she did not ever feel alone, because she knew that they are all one call away and stop anything just for their daughter.

Dad's eyes found her's reason to widen his smile even more and he held out his hand to reach Sinclaire's and she wholeheartedly accepts it and the three of them danced in harmony while laughing.

Yes, they are serious when it comes to business, it seems like you will tremble at fear by their extreme strictness but when they step at home and see their one and only daughter, their expression will soften immediately.
︎

Funny how home could be also someone that makes you feel solace, and it’s her family for her, her love ones.

Author's Note:

Hello nini! how was the first chapter so far? Thank you for reading #ENL !!

I like the relationship between Sinclaire and her parents here haha, hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to vote, comment and share hihi.

Shrimp Porridge Dish = Sinigang na Hipon. Haha lol.

Sa totoo lang nag aalinlangan ako if I should write this novel a straight English, without Tagalog but I guess it didn't work.

What do you think suits more? The 3rd person point of view or the protagonists point of view?

Until the next chapter,
@nicanicania :)
