chapter 1 ~ first day

i was awoken to klees fake bomb toy "blowing up" in my ear.

"'bedo! 'bedo! albedooooo! waaaake uppp its time for schoool!"

i rolled over in bed, groaning,"ok, ok im up go get ready klee" i say as she jumps off my bed to go get dressed. 'i guess i should get dressed too' i think.

i will myself to get out of bed and walk over to my closet. 'hmmm, it is the first day of school so i should probably wear something nice' i pick out a light and dark blue sweater vest and a collared long sleeve undershirt. i pair this with a pair of high waisted baggy jeans and a studded belt. (i dont have a picture but i hope that made sense).

i leave my room heading to the kitchen, seeing klee waiting patiently. "hey klee, whaddya wanna eat for breakfast?" i asked. "ooo, oo, can we have waffles?" she said excitedly. i respond "of course," i laugh "waffles coming right up!"

*time skip till after they eat cause i cant write cooking*

"ok klee go brush your teeth, get your backpack ready, and put on your shoes!" i say while putting my school books in my bag. i then go to the bathroom where i see klee rinsing her mouth. "ok klee ill be down in two minutes"

i brush my teeth then head downstairs, slipping my shoes on my feet while i pass my room. "ok klee you ready for first day of fifth grade?" i ask. "yeahh!" she responds excitedly.

she runs out the door with her arms out like an airplane, shouting about the knights of favonious, her imaginary organization.

we walk to her elementary first, since my school doesnt start for another 30 minutes. i drop her off at her classroom and say "have fun, ok?" she shouts "ok, bye 'bedooo!" over her shoulder as she runs to find her best friend qiqi, which is my best friends, xiao, younger sister. (ive never seen this dynamic but i feel like theyd get along)

i leave the building, and put in my earbuds listening to my spotify playlist. the walk to school is calm like usual. i meet up with xiao at the oak tree in front of the school. he was talking about his boyfriend venti, and how annoying he was, but i wasnt really listening because i had seen my crush of three years, kaeya alberich.

he was one of the more popular kids, so why would he ever like me back? plus hes probably straight. were acquaintances weve talked in class a few times but not enough to be considered friends.

we walk inside, losing sight of kaeya and his friend group. we make our way to our homeroom of the uear and find our friend group which consists of me, xiao, venti, zhongli, hu tao, and diluc, kaeyas younger brother. to be honest diluc would probably yell at me if he ever found out that i liked his older brother. they really arent on the best of terms ever since their dad died.

at that moment kaeya and his friends, jean and lisa walked in. they sat down at the desks near us and i zoned out staring at him. he wore an eyepatch, i wonder how he got it. a few seconds later he caighth me staring at him and winked. i quickly turned away blushing furiously. 'oh god he noticed, what if he thinks im weird, what if he never talks to me again' i start to panic. zhongli noticed what happened and chuckled slightly.

*time skip to third period*

so far my classes have been good, my teachers are pretty cool. this period is biology , so i actually really like it. theres only one table left open so i sot down. i think im the last one in, so im not going to have a partner, but to my surprise none other than kaey alberich walks in. 'oh im lab partners with kaeya, ha this sounds like some cheesy coming of age romance novel'

he casually walks over to me and waves. i wave back. i may look calm on the outside but on the inside im freaking out.

"hiya, albedo right?"

"yes."

"haha well i guess were lab partners", he says. "i suppose so." i reply curtly.

he smiles at me and says "i caught you staring at me earlier-~" i turn red and reply "what are you talking about, i did no such thing!"

"your face says otherwise~" he cooly states.

this is going to be a long year.
