Prologue
-----------Sector 3. All I was ever told is, 'Sector 3'. Home? Sector 3. School? In Sector 3.
In my defense, how could I not be curious? I basically lived in a box, big enough for about 250 families. No pets, no nothing. Just people. It was closed off by four gray, brick walls.
Every morning, I had the same routine. The exact same. Everyone had the same routine. Everything had to be exact. It was the rules.
I woke up at exactly 7:30 am. So exact, that I woke up at 7:30 am, on the 6th second, no exceptions. Each day. I wore the same clothes, tied my shoes the same way, ate the same breakfast. EVERYTHING. There was no room for any error. Ever.
And each night, I thought about it. Always the same thing,
'What's on the other side?'We all had ideas but Nobody knew for sure, at least nobody ordinary. Only wall security knew. And they were never seen. By anybody. Once you were security, you never got to talk to anyone that wasn't security. No exceptions. That includes family, friends, and anyone else. They weren't even allowed to see other citizens. Once you're a security guard, you live with them, eat with them, everything. Until death.
But now, thanks to my curiosity, I'm in a room with nothing but myself. I'm alone. This is what they call, The Bad Gem's Prison. As if out there wasn't prison enough. But, first, let me explain how my curiosity got me ended up here in the first place.
