"She's crazy..." "some say she gouged her own eyes out just for the fun of it." Mumbled two of my friends as they stalked the house of the eyeless Emily, as they called her at my school. I shouldn't call them my friends, they're more like, business partners. I fallow them around and they get me in with the cool kids. I didn't like how they treated her, but I didn't even know her. Niether did they. "Maby she was born like that, you can't just go around accusing people of insanity." "Hey, no-one brought you along to talk smack or even talk for that matter." Courtney snapped at me, I always hated her the most. "Go talk to eyeless Emily, maby she'll show you her empty eye sockets." "Yeah, Scarlett, go talk to the wench." Wench? Who even says that anymore? I thought to myself as I climbed the chain linked fence.

I knocked on the door, expecting some old women with eyepatches or something. To my surprise, it was a young girl about 16, my age. She wore dark sunglasses and was as pale as a ghost. "Oh, h-hi eyele- um, I mean, Emily. Sorry to bother you, I just wanted to say hi." I managed to choke out. "Your friends over there are very rude." She crossed her arms and leaned against the door. "How could you see them?" "I can't, Louise told me." She tilted her head to the side, confused. "Louise?" "My friend, she died in 1923. Sorry about her, she's really shy and nosy." Shivers ran down my spine, but I brushed it off pretending she just had an imaginary friend and really good hearing. "Since you've been so nice to me and Louise, I want you to have this. She handed me a locket. I opened it and inside was an old picture of a young girl wearing the same glasses as Emily. The picture looked like it was taken it the 20's. I put on the locket and my eyes began to burn.
