Thick and Thin

A Warning

Player brushed their teeth happily. It had been a week since Baldi's redemption and since Player had learned that everyone in the game. They remembered the day clearly.
Baldi had a crazed look in his eyes as tears ran down his cheeks. "Don't you understand? I can't control it! I'm a human, just like you! We all are! We're just trapped in this damn game! Please save us. Please!"
Player carefully walked towards Baldi.They were unsure of what this glitch would make Baldi do. He had been chasing them for a while, angry and desperate, apparently. Player stood in front of the broken man and pulled him into a hug.
"I'm here to help."
And suddenly, Baldi dropped to the ground. "Help us fight then."
"I will. I promise."
Player had helped Baldi, along with the others control the glitch that had plagued him. It was only bad with him because he was the first trapped. Principal was the second, which explained his horrific eyes, and Playtime next, who's eyes had been affected too.
The rest had been deformed because of the glitches. No one knew where they came from. Perhaps the game makers had made a fatal glitch or something. Player was able to go into the game, but they didn't get trapped or deformed. Only an androgynous appearance. They wondered why that was.
They considered the people in the game their family, even people like Bully he enjoyed. Their real life family didn't even notice them, and would insult them when they asked for something. School was full of real bullies. Spreading rumors, outing them, hitting and punching them. They remembered a particularly gruesome encounter in which they still had bad scars from.
At least when Player got home they could be with their real family. Maybe one day they could get them out of the game.

School went by as usual, and when Player got home they ran to their old computer which they had got for free from a crazed stranger, and loaded up the game. They pressed play hopefully and was suddenly in the game. Player cheered. One more test. They turned around and there was no Baldi. They felt a tap on their shoulder and turned around to find a happy Baldi. Player ran into him and hugged Baldi tight. "Hey! How was school?" Baldi asked, letting go, hands on Player's shoulders.
"Good! The math lessons you've been giving me have really been helping!"
"Good, good!" Baldi replied. Player didn't tell him about the bullying.
Player ran to go say hi to the other inhabitants. They saw Filename2 and dove into him. "Hello!" They said enthusiastically. Filename too, had been saved from a glitch. Through remembrance of he and Baldi's friendship, he returned to his former mental state. His physical state was still lost, like everyone. Except Gotta Sweep, he only appears as a broom if you're NOT in the game.
"Oh. Hi." He said calmly, and patted Player on the back. They pulled away. "I did well in school today!" Player exclaimed. Filename2 looked at them proudly. "Good job."
Player said hi to all the others. Principal responded with a nod, Arts and Crafters didn't even respond, and Bully just looked away.
The others Player couldn't find. They must have been doing their own thing instead of roaming about in the halls.
Baldi tapped him on the back. "Hey P?" He said, looking down at them with his wise gaze. "Yeah?" Player replied. Baldi inhaled.
"I want you to be careful around here. The glitches have been getting worse and we don't know what's causing it. I want you to be especially careful around...around me. I might do something I shouldn't..." Baldi looked away, his eyes full of regret for the fear he instilled in Player's mind. Even though Player stopped him before he could do any real damage, he was still guilty.
"Oh Baldi! I know you won't hurt me!" Player replied, a warm, reassuring smile forming on his face. They were so innocent. So kind.
"Thanks for believing in me P, but really, be careful." Baldi said. Player heard the seriousness in his voice and dimmed a little. "I will." They said. Baldi was sad to see their happy aura go, but he had to protect them.
