Silent.

The room was silent. The only sound heard was the heavy breathing of the well-known Park Jimin. All eyes were on him, waiting to see if he would do anything else.

As a few more seconds passed, he stayed still, breathing hard. Soon, the room erupted with applause and compliments towards the male dancer.

He bowed and smiled brightly, showing off his eye smile. "Wow Jimin! You were amazing! I guess those extra hours of practice really paid off!" Hoseok patted his best friend on the shoulder proudly.

"We all know you can do the same, hyung." Jimin insisted. Hoseok shook his head modestly throwing his arm around his friends shoulder. "No way! I could never perform for the graduation ceremony! There are way too many people!" Hoseok argued. The two boys made their way to the dressing rooms laughing and talking.

Stepping off the stage, Jimin felt amazing. He felt like he was the happiest man alive. He believed he was the happiest man alive. Having the stage lights focused on him, the crowd watching his every move, the only audible sound being the music, all of it felt like heaven.

Jimin was a pretty fortunate guy. All his life, he was popular and had a loving family of his parents, and one older brother. Not to mention, he had the most supportive friends in the world. Jimin loved them dearly, and always reminded them of that by taking them out to eat, or buying them gifts. Small gestures like that proving that Jimin was a kind hearted boy.

Speaking of which, just as he was about to enter the dressing room, he was tackled by a bone crushing hug. "Jiminie! I'm so proud of you!" Seokjin's voice squealed in his ear.

Jimin pushed his hands against his ears dramatically, the sudden movement alerted his hyung who removed himself from the younger. "Thanks hyung." Jimin smiled sheepishly. Seokjin ruffled the youngers hair smiling widely. "Mom and Dad want to take you out to eat. Hurry up and change, Hobi can come, too." Jimin nodded and headed inside the dressing room.

He changed out of his clothes putting it back on the hanger it came from. He held on to one of the sleeves admiring the delicate fabric gently, reminiscing the moment he felt alive. Dancing to the soft music as gracefully as he could. The faces of the happy people watching him dance, without missing a single movement.

He let go of the fabric and continued changing into something more casual. He threw on a black v neck shirt that hung on his shoulders perfectly. He pulled a pair of black pants on tightening the waist with a matching black belt.

Just like that, he was dressed and leaving the dressing room for the last time. His eyes lingered around the room for a breif second, just thinking about his future that was approaching quickly. Almost too quickly for Jimin's liking. He wasn't exactly ready to move on from his high school friends, or his family's home. With a sad smile, he closed the door, and headed to the parking lot.

-

"How did your college applications go, Jimin?" His mother sat across from him at the table expectantly waiting for an answer. "They came in the mail this morning, but I didn't have time to check. I'll have to wait until I get home." Jimin smiled.

The rest of the dinner passed leaving a few memorable moments here and there. By the time they finished, Jimin was dead tired so they decided to go back home.

Arriving at their house, Jimin remebered to stop at the mailbox planted infront of the house. He opened it and pulled out a handful of envelopes. Crossing his fingers and taking a short breath, he darted into the house excitedly.

Jimin fished out an envelope that read "The University of Sydney". Jimin applied there in hopes of being able to study abroad in Australia. He had a few Korean friends living there that he hadn't seen in a while, so he thought it would be nice to try living there.

Seokjin rested both hands on his shoulders in a comforting way. "It's okay if you didn't make it. We'll all still love you, Min." Jimin nodded inhaling sharply and unsealing the envelope with his finger. He pulled a paper folded three times out of the white envelope.

"Here I go." He whispered. Unfolding the paper, his eyes scanned the typed message.

There it was again. Silence.

"I didn't get accepted." He said in a quiet voice. Words of sympathy and "it's okay"s escaped the lips of the family members all gathered in one room. "Don't dwell too much on it. It's not worth it, Bud." Jimin's father added.

"Yeah, it's okay." Jimin offered a soft smile. "Wait, there's another letter addressed to Park Jimin." Jin picked up a blue envelope with 'To Park Jimin' on it. Jimin took the envelope curiously, reading the rest of the writing that was printed onto the envelope. Seoul Performing Arts School was embroidered onto the blue envelope.

He hastily tore it open upon reading a letter from the school. The youngest grinned widely. "I got a scholarship to the best art school in the country!" He showed off the letter to his parents. The rest of the night was a celebration for their talented son.

Little did Jimin know, 88 kilometers away from Busan was a boy the same age as him in Daegu who was celebrating his acceptance to his dream college all by himself in his room.
