chapter one

"omg girl I'm starting highschool this is gonna be so exciting"I screeched on the phone while talking to my best friend Annie on a video call
I was just passing around the room with clothes all over the floor
"Girl you have to pick something you don't want to be late on your first day"
She said and I pulled out my yellow flower printed dress and I wore it put my hair in a bun and did a little touch up
When I say touch up I mean lip gloss because makeup isn't allowed in my school
"How does it look?"I smiled posing for Annie
"You look so pretty I could marry you"
She said I we both laughed loudly
"We both know that's not possible 😅"I said as I heard my door fling open and I turned of my phone
"Mum!,yesh.... please knock"
"I'd know when you start living under your own roof now get in the car in the next 10mins or you are walking to school"
I knew that was an empty treat because mum would never allow me to walk to school she gets super overdramatic sometimes.
I texted Annie on my way ☺️
I got into the car and the ride started
"You have your launch packed?" My mum asked
"Yes mum"I mumbled
"Are u done with all your holiday assignments"
"Yes mum"
"Do you have pads incase you start your period at school"
"Yes mum"
At this moment I wished I walked to school because this car ride was becoming torture
Finally we got to school and i said goodbye to my mum and I ran to Annie who was obviously waiting for me at the entrance
"Ouuu... someone was waiting for me"I said with a smirk
"Eww..no I wasn't why would I be waiting for someone I hate disgusting" she started fake gaging
I laughed "girl you are sick I hate you"
"I hate u more"she said and put her arms around my shoulder as we both walked towards the classroom
As we were walking in the hallway I saw a guy who wasn't familiar he was tall dark and he looked really reserved
"Annie look at that boy he looks interesting"I said with so much enthusiasm
"You would crush on anything come let's go I don't want him to see me" Annie hid behind me and we walked faster
"Do you know him?, wait don't tell me he's an ex"
"No I'd never date someone like him he's my stupid cousin I don't know what the fuck he's doing here"she looked genuinely annoyed
"Girllll, do you guys  have a childhood friend or something" I asked and she just held my hand
"It's a long story"she said in a low tone
Anytime Annie says it's a long story I've learned not to pressure her because she's a chatter box she'll say it when she's ready
When we got to class I took my usual sit front row middle and Annie when to the back seat
Most best friends sit together but not Annie and I we have different personalities.
I'm the one that likes teacher attention I'm the one that likes to smile and wear bright stuff to make every one notice me which they do
While Annie is like the I don't give a fuck about anybody infact she's not like she is that  girl
"Wow grace nice dress I wish I could afford something as beautiful as this"lily said
Lily is the smartest girl in my class I probably won't be talking to her if she wasn't
She's my sit mate and she helps me improve at school work but one problem she's boring and always makes me seem like I'm too entitled or indirectly tells me some people have to live hard lives and I don't have issues
You see... Many people in my class think I'm from a rich family because my dad is popular I've never like said I'm not but sometimes I wonder who gave them that idea
The first day is always boring sometimes I wonder why I bother going to school teachers don't even teach on the first day that much.
This day was quite different from the other days tho I had someone on my mind to keep me busy while I was lost in thought a guy came and sat next to me
"Natasha!!....what are you thinking about? It's written all over your face"nick said
Nick was a friend of mine from middle school we get along sometimes but most times we are fighting and giving each other silent treatment because he's gets really annoying sometimes
I just stared at him and started writing on my notes then he just took the pen from me
"Nick give it back " I said as I fought to collect it then our eyes met and we stared at each other for seconds I could feel the intense emotions
I've always had a little crush on nick I knew there was romantic tension between us but I just ignored it because I didn't want to like him
"You didn't even say hi to me today" nick said and he looked directly at my eyes
Like does he have to do that ?
"Hi nick , are you happy now"I said with a sassy look
He just came closer and pinched my cheeks and left what a weirdo I wonder how we became friends
Ohhh wait it's all Moana fault
Nick and I bonded when we both were inlove with the Disney cartoon  Moana it's was really cringe when we would sing the songs together

Finally launch break I quickly ate my launch so I can go outside and watch drama happening  so Annie and I  can gossip about it later
I went downstairs and I saw the guy and I walked up to him if only I could turn back the clock I would to avoid talking to this human
"Hi are you new here" what was I thinking that I was in a romcom🤦🏼‍♀️
He looked at me scanned me and smiled at this moment I thought he liked me but he saw a naive young girl he could manipulate
"Yes I am and why is a pretty girl like you talking to me" he said and I blushed
"We'll I love new students they are very interesting"I said and played with my hair
" Okay let's start with our names I'm Tony"
"Natasha"
I talked to Tony till our launch break was over and it was time to go to class I saw lily on the way
" Wow it's good to be pretty that new senior likes you and I was crushing on him well...that's what happens when you look like me"
Urgg I kinda hated lily sometimes
"You aren't ugly and he doesn't like me we just literally started talking"
I said trying to walk faster so she would stop talking
"Yeah right" she said and left
There isn't a day that goes by and I don't wonder why someone so stupid is  book smart .
I saw Annie sitting on my desk looking angry
" My cousin isn't a good guy Natasha I don't want you to get hurt
"Oh my god I'm just trying to know him we aren't planning a wedding or something" I replied sarcastically
"This is the last time I'd warn you as a Friend, Nick is bad news Judy end your relationship at friendship level please"Annie said dropping some cookies I think she bought for me
As I ate my cookies i just thought about getting to know nick more he seemed so interesting I thought there was something special about him
