'He's much different than I remember' Jay said, observing Heesung again.
"Look Heesung, thank you so much for caring for him. I didn't realize that was the reason you always looked at me like you wanted to kill me." He chuckled. "But I'm not romantically involved with him," lies. "Nor am I particularly interested in him." again, lies.
Heesung just nodded. "Sure buddy, if you were to be though, he's fragile so take care of him." Jay just nodded and kept his composure. Listening to the older's words he felt comforted. Like he was a dad he never had.
"So what are you doing so early here Heesung?" Heesung turned his head, thinking about his answer. "Well, I'm running the adopt-a-kitty stand and the lady who was supposed to bring the cats from the shelter is supposed to come any minute... Oh! Here we go she just texted me she's here. Come with me and help me set everything up?" Heesung asked, Jay nodded happily.
They made their way to the front gate helping the lady's truck get into the school parking lot. She opened her backseat, taking out many boxes with beds and food which the cats would use to get warm. Then she opened her trunk, revealing a dozen cats and kittens. Both Jay and Heesung melted at this, their eyes sparkling.
They helped her carry them out. Then they started walking to the festival grounds carrying all the boxes with necessities and kitties. They helped put a collar on each so people could know their temporary name. The lady said she'd be back in half an hour with her friend who'll also help manage the booth. She thanked Jay and Heesung and left quickly.
"Oh my god look how small this one is!" Jay said his eyes even bigger than before. "This one has stripes on his head! Oh wait, is it even a he?" Jay was having a blast with the kitties, and Heesung was having even more of a blast watching Jay interact with the kittens like they were humans.
A huge thud was heard in the bathroom which caused both boys to jump up. They looked at each other, nodding, and quietly started walking to the place the sound came from. They got near the janitor's closet and barged in. "We'll call the police you thieves!" They said, closed eyes.
Slowly opening their eyes, they were met with two familiar people. Sunghoon and Jake. Now, it's not what you were thinking. They just stole a cat from the lady. They were sitting around the cat, petting it in turns. Jay and Heesung looked at each other in confusion, sighing in relief.
"We thought someone was gonna steal something! Looks like you already steal though, a cat." Heesung said as he crossed his arms.
The two awkwardly chuckled, trying to plan their funeral. "Look, I couldn't wait to adopt this little fella! Look how cute he is with his little dots on his head, big stripes on his tail, and look at his paws for god's sake!" Jake agreed with what Sunghoon was saying, vigorously nodding to every statement he made.
Jay sighed. "Look guys, it's all fine there's nothing wrong you did. You just scared us shitless, we thought we were gonna die or something." Jay was dead serious, he barely calmed down.
The four boys chuckled, laughing about the situation for a while. Heesung invited the two to help them arrange the kitty booth, and their eyes sparkled, so of course, they were all ready to help the little kitties in their playpen.
They made their way to the playpen full of cats only to find someone inside it. It was a person dressed in a sheep costume, fluffy white material.
"Oh, hi guys!" Jungwon said holding up about 7 cats at the same time, smiling wide.
