"Father! You said Huening Kai is coming?" the little girl beamed at her father, who lovingly stared back at her.
"That's right!" he pinched her cheeks, getting an "ow" from the girl.
Ding Dong~
"Wah the old man's here! " his father groaned as he hugged the man who just entered.
"Y/N!" a little boy whisper-shouted, gaining her attention.
"Kai!" she ran off to him, "Come with me I want to show you something!"
She grabbed his arm, making him run with her to a nearby floral garden. The garden was filled with Daisies. She plopped on the ground, Kai doing the same.
"I learned how to make flower crowns!" she flashed a proud smile.
"Really? Can you make one for me?" he raised his eyebrow hopefully.
"Of course!" she beamed, plucking few daisies. She twisted their ends together, turning it into a beautiful crown.
"Here you go!" she placed it on his head, "You look like a king now!"
"I do? I'll make you my queen then." he declared, placing the crown on the girls head.
"Really? Thank you!" she grinned ear to ear.
"Wait. There are swings here?" he asked, earning a nod from the girl, "Then let's go!"
He ran, leaving her alone. She dashed, trying to catch up with him but he was too fast.
"I came first!" he announced.
"I came second... " Y/n said, dropping her head."Don't be sad. You'll drop your crown!" he fixed the crown on her head.
The two friends sat in silence, pushing their own swings back and forth. Kai decided to break the silence, "I'm leaving to Hawaii."
"What?" Y/n stiffened.
"My dad," he sighed, "he said he got a better job there. We're moving there this week."
"This week?" she asked, appalled.
"Yeah." he played with the sand using his feet.
"When are you coming back?" she questioned further, holding back her emotions.
"I don't know that. But I'll be back soon, I promise!" Kai reassured.
He didn't.
