I'm Sorry

Annie's POV:
What did I just do? What should I say when I get back? Should I go back?

So many questions and thoughts swirled around in my head as if in a hurricane as I stormed down the street, not even realising I was about to bump into a poor kid on their scooter.

His parents quickly shouted at him to swerve and gave me an intimidating glare as they walked past.

"Sorry!" I shouted back to them however they just carried on walking, the little boy turning around and giving me a little wave before speeding off.

That made me smile, the fact that kids are so much more understanding than parents - I've always wondered why.

I bet dad will never forgive you...and there we go, my mind was now back to worrying once more, what a surprise.

I went to grab my phone from the back pocket of my shorts where I usually put it but to my horror, I found it empty and I quickly remembered how I left it on my bed at home.

Now I can't even answer my parents calls which, my parents being well...my parents, there would be many of - which will only make them even more mad at me.

"Well done Annie!" I hissed through gritted teeth, I then went to turn back as I might as well go home and apologise, get it over and done with.

As I went to walk down the path, I soon realised that I had never been down this street before, all the houses looked a lot bigger and a lot fancier compared to mine; I definitely don't belong here.

Panicking a little and feeling my heart beating just a little faster, I ran down the street. Maybe my mind will remember where it took me in the first place? I tried to tell myself.

Wrong.

I came to the end of the street to fine two other ways to the left or the right and a crossing to another street across the road.

So three potentials ways.

"I definitely didn't cross a road otherwise I would have gotten ran over surely," I mumbled to myself.

However, I do recall getting beeped at quite aggressively by a tiny old man whose head barely reached a steering wheel but was that on my way home from school? I do remember it making me burst out laughing as I almost got ran over by multiple other cars which must have looked immensely strange to onlookers.

My whole mind was so clouded that my memories just blurred together.

"Psst, hey....kid!" An unfamiliar voice trying to get my attention made me stand completely still, including my mind which relieved me a little.

Confused, and a little scared, I anxiously looked around to eventually discover an alleyway which I for some reason missed earlier and a dark mysterious figure leaning up against the fence.

"Annie isn't it? Wow you've grown," the strange man chuckled as he eventually stepped out of the shadows, only a little mind.

I could barely make out his intimidating yet definitely not dangerous face with an eye patch over his left eye and I could just about make out scratches around the eye patch. This only made me curious as to how that happened.

He had a small smirk on his face and was dressed all in black almost as if it were Halloween or he was going to a funeral.

"You know my name, h...how?" I tried not to be afraid but I was also getting myself ready to sprint as fast as I could.

"Well...I know everything," I watched as his smirk grew bigger.

"My dad told me never to speak to strangers," I frowned at this unknown man, folding my arms and starting to walk away.
