Kirishima

Not too long before I enrolled into UA, I was a completely different person. I was helpless and weak. I vowed to myself that I'd never be so unmanly again. I mean, what hero just shakes in fear when others are in desperate need of their help?

So, I made myself a promise. I promised myself that I'd never show that weak and unmanly side to anyone ever again.

The most notable change I made was dying my hair crimson red. Not just because I strived to be a hero like Crimson Riot (though, that was a part of the reason). I wanted to give myself a fresh start, both physically and mentally.

Mina was surprised by it at first, but she understood. "I'll never be weak again," I say with a small smile before entering UA for the first time.

Sunlight makes its way through my window. I yawn and rub my eyes, groaning quietly at how tired I still was. I had stayed up late last night for one of Bakugo's one-on-one study sessions (that he made me do because my grades need some serious help). Deep inside, I knew Bakugo cared about me. A small smile tugs my lips at the thought.

I roll out of bed, grabbing some fresh clothes for a shower. Usually I took showers at night— but with Bakugo's study session, I had been working with him all the way until two in the morning. There was simply no time last night for a shower.

I hop into the elevator, greeting Denki with a grin. "Hey, bro," I say. He waves in response.

The elevator opens with a ding. I walk inside of the boy's bathroom, placing my clean clothes on top of the sink. I make sure that no one's inside before turning on the hot water for my shower.

I sigh in content as I exit the shower, my towel firmly wrapped around my torso. I decide not to dry my hair. I toss my t-shirt and shorts on before exiting the bathroom. I'll come back for my dirty clothes later, I thought, for now, breakfast sounds real good. I wonder if Bakugo's making breakfast this morning?

I spot Denki and Sero on the couch, chatting amongst themselves. I smile and walk over. "Hey, bros!"

Denki and Sero turn around. I give them a toothy smile before sitting down next to Sero.

That's when I notice their shocked expressions. Their mouthes were wide open as they stared at me intensely. I blink a few times before putting my hand on my cheek. Was there something on my face?

"I-Is something wrong?" I say. The two of them exchange glances.

"I like the new style, Kiri! Really digging it!" Denki finally says, pointing finger guns at me. "Yeah, now we match! Awesome!" Sero exclaims.

"H-Huh?" I blink a few times. "Oh. Oh! I forgot to spike up my hair!" I chuckle a bit. Denki laughs softly and says, "Well, that too. But I've never seen your hair like this before! It looks cool!"

Before I could reply, Midoriya walks in. "Oh hey there, Kirishima! Black hair suits you." Sero nods and says, "I know right? Dude, you should definitely keep your hair like this from now on!"

Black hair...?

"Black hair?" I repeat to myself. Denki pokes my shoulder and says, "You okay, dude? You're usually way more talkative."

"Alright you losers, I made your fucking breakfast. Eat before I fucking kill all of you," Bakugo shouts from the kitchen. Sero elbows my side and whispers, "You should show Bakugo your new look."

"New... Look...?"

"Yo, Bakugo!" Denki shouts, "Look at Kirishima's sick new look!"

"The fuck does shitty hair want-!" Bakugo stops mid-sentence, staring at me with an unreadable expression.

"G-Guys? What's going on?" I whisper, still not quite understanding the whole situation.

"What's taking you boys so long?" Mina says as she enters the lounge. She immediately pauses when she spots me. "Kiri, I thought you liked keeping your hair red."

I stare at her, dumbfounded for a few moments. Then, it struck me. I forgot to re-dye my hair this morning!

"Oh- Oh my god... I forgot to re-dye my hair..." My cheeks flare in embarrassment. The side of me that I sworn I wouldn't let others see was revealed in an instant.

"Dude, you look great!" Denki says, "I honestly think you look cool either way!"

"Yeah!" Sero chimes in. Midoriya nods as well.

"T-Thanks, guys. A-Anyway, I'm gonna dye my hair now, see you all in twenty minut-!" Bakugo grabs the collar of my shirt mid-sentence, and starts to drag me out of the room. "B-Bakubro? Where are we going?" He doesn't reply to this and drags me into the elevator.

"Bakubro?" I say once more, "Is everything alright?"

He stares me directly in the eye, his deep red orbs piercing through my soul. I shudder slightly.

"You did not tell me that you hair looks like... Fucking that," Bakugo finally says. I gulp and smile sheepishly. "M-My bad, I'm actually pretty self conscious a-about it, h-hah..." He glares at me once again. "You look fine," he grumbles before exiting the elevator, leaving me dumbfounded.

"I look... Fine?" I repeat to myself. My cheeks explode into a blush as a cheeky grin tugs my lips. "Aww, thanks, Bakubro!"

"Shut it, shitty hair!" Bakugo shouts, "It wasn't a compliment!"

The smile doesn't leave my face as he stomps into his dorm, slamming the door behind him.

"I look fine," I repeat with a smile, tossing the hair dye into a wastebasket before heading back downstairs.
