Protein Synthesis

The two steps of Protein synthesis is Transcription copying the code from DNA onto mRNA and translation which is the process using the code to build a protein

Transcription is the process of helicase unwinding DNA and RNA polymerase binding to a promoter region on the DNA and builds an mRNA molecule to match outside of the DNA

The mRNA is edited

The intons are soon removed from the mRNA which are copied from the junk DNA as the exons are spliced together

The mRNA leaves the nucleus and attaches to a ribosome in the cytoplasm

tRNA soon brings amino acids to the ribosome and organize them in a line according to the code on the mRNA

The tRNA anticodon matches up with the mRNA codon

The start codon is always AUG

The ribosomes join the amino acids together which is referred to as a peptide bond

Each tRNA drops off the amino acid and then leaves

This process continues over and over again as the ribosomes move down the mRNA strand so more amino acids which can be connected until the stop codon is finally reached

As the chain of amino acids exist it's called a polypeptide

The chain of amino acids then folds along with other chains to form a protein

This causes the protein to have a separate shape causing it to not be able to perform its job very well after the translation
