Her heels were clicking against the floor as she walked inside a grand building, completely made of glass, labelled 'VOGUE'. It was all like a flashback as she remembered the previous year. The difference was that this time she was here for a job unlike last time when she was here for a deal. Still, it all felt very familiar. Everything was in contrast of grey, black and white here with a statue and a fountain in the middle. Above it was a big, enticing chandelier. On the left side was the waiting area and reception desk was on the right side.
Eva Rose, a young lady of twenty-five, has lived in Rusholme in Manchester all her life but due to some reason, she has recently moved in the City of Westminster in London. She is witty, smart, intellectual and passionate about everything she does. Eva possesses such startling emerald green eyes that anyone can drown in their warmth but her fiery red hair can be intimidating. She has a fair and curvy built which is neither very thin and bony nor very fat. Her skin is pale and glowing and by looking at her no one can ever claim that she can be anything other than soft and polite. Eva is a brilliant lawyer who doesn't take up individual cases but work for firms and MNCs. Her parents and sister still live in Manchester and she misses them though it has only been a fortnight that she had shifted to London. In these two weeks, she has settled in a three-room flat which her father had bought for her despite her urging him to let her manage everything on her own. 'Just a Goodbye Manchester present and Welcome London gift, dear', he had said.Their family was well off, not the richest by any means but they still made both ends meet. Her father has called so many times in these two weeks and she couldn't complain when she was always looking forward to telling him how her day went, how much has been left to do in the flat, how her job search was going and how mind blowing the London was. She had been frightened, understandably so, before leaving her home to which so many of her memories had been attached. Its not easy to leave everything and everyone behind to stand up on your own legs. She still thinks from where did she get the courage but didn't stop and turn back. She had goals to achieve and dreams to fulfil. She had been a bright student from her childhood and always dreamt of the realistic. Eva never bothered with the greed of more money or to dump herself in distinguishable make-up to impress, like every normal girl of her age did. She always enjoyed the life, not caring of what other people might think of her. She never stressed about past or future. She made plans, yes, but never fussed about them. Eva had a sorted and clear mind, an opinion about everything. She was one of those people who would participate in a race, do everything to win it, even if to bend some rules (she was a lawyer, after all) and not to mourn about it if they didn't win because its participating and trying that matters.
She walked up to the front desk and the girl there looked up from her computer. Eva was wearing a blue and white lining shirt tucked in a blue, knee length, pencil skirt and white heels. Her hair was up done in pony. She was carrying a white purse and a file in her hand. The girl on the front desk, her name tag read 'Hestia Ellis', said, "Good Morning. How may I help you?" in a practiced official tone. She had black eyes and blonde hair. Eva, glancing on her name tag, said, "Good Morning, Ms. Ellis. I am Eva Rose. I'm here for an interview" in a courteous manner. Hestia eyed her outfit unsurely. Eva looked at her curiously and asked, "Any problem?". "No, just that your clothes are very formal and official.", she said thoughtfully and a little embarrassedly. Eva raised her eyebrows in mild surprise and said, "Aren't they supposed to be?". Hestia shook her head smiling and said, "No, its just that there had been a few fair female applicants for the interview who thought that seduction would get them the job and wore such dresses that I was having a hard time trying not to laugh.". Then, as an afterthought, she said, "Sorry, didn't mean to be rude or anything.". Eva waved her hand as to put the apology aside, her lips twitching up and said, "Well, I am not here for a ramp walk or fancy-dress competition and if they do get this job by those tactics then, I must say this is surely not the place for me." Hestia now replied, checking her computer simultaneously to check for Eva, "Oh don't worry, not a chance that they'll get this job like that- Oh here it is. Eva Rose for the interview at 10:00 am today. Let me just check if you can go up right now.". She then called on her intercom and said, “Sir, its time for the next candidate. Ms. Rose is here. Shall I send her up?” After a moment, she hanged the intercom, looked up at Eva and said, "Go straight, there is lift on the left. 75th floor. And Best of Luck, I hope you get the job, Ms. Rose.", then added in an undertone but Eva heard, "You look sane." Eva gave a short laugh, said "Thank You" and left the front desk.
