Its 2020 and the girls were still in high school. It was their senior year, this was the year everybody was waiting for and dreaming of. Janay (African American,18, Pisces), Odessa (Black and white, 17, Virgo), Fatou (Ghanaian, 18, Scorpio), and Liberty (Dominican, 18, Libra) were 4 best friends who became close during their sophomore year of high school.  Everything they ever wanted had been coming true, that was until one day during their graduation year when their life changed.

March 18th 2020

It was a Friday at school and little did everyone know it was their last day seeing each other for a while. Friday's were like holidays, everyone was excited to be at school and the energy was always amazing. Friday's meant taking other buses home to friend's houses, driving to the store and chilling, or that a fight would break out and make things less boring. As anybody else would be, the girls were stressing out about getting into the same college. They had gotten into some really good schools like Buff state, NCAT, and UAlbany. But where the girls really wanted to go was Georgia State. They knew how cruel the world was and wanted to stay by each other's side. As third period of their AVID class began the girls sat down by the bay window and talked about life.

Janay: I can't believe were going to be out of here in 3 months, and prom is literally around the corner.

Liberty: Bitch I've been waiting for this moment I can't wait!

Odessa: Have ya'll been seeing this stuff about something called Coracona....no Corona?

Janay: Yeah, I don't think it's anything too serious though.

Fatou: Honestly slim to no chance it'll effect us .

Liberty: I mean it shouldn't effect us coming to school, It's like the flu, or any other type of common cold people normally get.

Odessa: Did ya'll see April today, she looks so pretty today

Janay: Dessa when you gone tell her you like her? Ya'll hang out enough for her to know

Liberty: Yeah and you don't have to worry about if she likes girls or not, she makes it clear every 5 seconds. Like she's definitely rolling with the LGBT.

Odessa: Okay one, you need to stay off of tiktok, and two, I'm just not as bold as you are. She flirts with me an I flirt back but I mean what is that gonna do. It's literally March. And it's hard flirting with girls

Fatou: Were gonna be going to college soon, don't you think now is the perfect time to figure out what it is with you two?

Odessa: I mean yes it feels like a now or never thing. I'm just too nervous to say it. Why do I got to say it why can't she say it!

Liberty: Well maybe both of ya'll are just too scared to say something. Its harder with girls because we know how to make each other nervous. Men are just easy.

Janay: Liberty's right. The worst thing that can happen is your wrong about the flirting. But so what, if you guys have a good friendship it shouldn't be awkward. Key words a good friendship

Odessa: Okay, so what okay I'll, tell her when I see her next period. It's only 10:45 in the morning that's not too early for a conversation about feelings right (laughs) I'm gonna throw up.

Fatou: It's something that needs to be talked about ya'll have played too many games with each other for months.

Liberty: Have we ever led each other the wrong way...purposely?

Janay: Just go for it love

Odessa: (she takes a deep breath) okay, okay I'm gonna do it and I'll text you guys afterwards
