I quickly put bandaids over my cuts and then wore a pair of yoga pants and an over-sized hoodie. Underneath I wore a white tank top. I walked down the stairs and grabbed a jar of nutella and a box of bread sticks.

I ran back up and grabbed my laptop, phone and glasses. For the rest of the night I was watching American Horror Story on Netflix.

-

I woke up by my alarm which was blasting Sleeping With Sirens. Today was the last day of school and I couldn't wait. I showered, blow dried and straightened my hair. I did my makeup and quickly put on the outfit that I chose last night.

Once I was done I grabbed my bag and phone and walked downstairs. After grabbing a granola bar, I put my converses on and walked out.

When I got to school I was shoved against the locker like always and everyone started laughing like always. I got up and walked over to my locker. My first lesson was English so I quickly walked in and took my seat at the back. Ashton and Michael walked in and deliberately sat on either side of me. Great just great.

Half way through the lesson, Ashton started poking me and then he started throwing pieces of paper in my direction.

"Can you stop that? I am trying to concentrate."

"Nope sorry I just love to annoy you, I mean look at how fat and ugly you look and just sitting here and looking at you makes me want to puke."

Ignoring what he just said to me, I turned my head to the front of the class and I didn't look away until the end. When I walked out, I bumped into a girl who looked my age and had long curly brown hair with emerald green eyes.

"Oh my god! I am so stupid. I'm so sorry." She cried.

"It's okay don't worry." I replied.

I started walking away and she followed me which was kind of unusual. Without making a scene I carried on walking to my second lesson which was History. Once I got to my lesson I took a seat at the back and started taking my books out. When I looked up again, the girl was sitting next to me and Luke was on the other side. Perfect.

Throughout the lesson, I could feel Luke staring at me and it was making me feel really uncomfortable. I heard someone call my name and my head shot up instantly.

"Can you come up to the board and write the dates for these events please."

Shit. Without looking anywhere around the room I walked up to the board and wrote the dates down. My heart started pounding against my chest when I heard people whispering things and snickering. I turned around and was about to start walking to my seat when everyone started laughing.

"Quiet please! Alex your nose is bleeding. You shou-"

Before she could finish I ran out of the room and didn't stop till I got to the toilets. Kicking the door open and slamming it shut, I sat on the toilet seat and just cried my eyes out with my head up and a tissue on my nose. After a few minutes I heard the door open and that's when I tried my hardest to stop my sobs.

Adrienne's POV
After Alex ran out, I stood up and couldn't stop myself from bursting out.

"Don't you guys have any shame? What has she ever done to you guys that is making you make her life a living hell? What do you gain by making her feel bad about herself huh!? Would you like it if that happened to you!? Would you like it if you came into school everyday and everyone made you feel like a laughing joke? Stupid, self-centred imbeciles." With that I walked out slamming the door shut. Leaving them all speechless.

I ran to the toilet and heard soft sobbing in the last toilet. I walked over and gently knocked on the door. After a few seconds I heard the door unlock and I stepped back giving Alex space to walk out.

"Hey. You okay?"

"No. Why does everyone always pick on me? What have I done to deserve this?"

"You haven't done anything. Think of it as a test. You get through it and everything will be okay. But if you choose to give up then you'll fail and I don't think you want to fail."

"Tests don't last for four years."

"Some are longer than others because it's hard to decide on the result."

"Thanks. Why are you here anyways? If you don't mind me asking."

"Oh sorry how rude of me! I'm a transfer student and I was just looking for someone to be friends with since I don't really know much about this school."

"Oh okay. Well you chose the wrong person."

"I think I've chosen a good friend who will be loyal."

"Thanks."

"Oh I'm Adrienne. Adrienne Adams."

"Alex Ryder."

"I know. Come on let's go it's lunchtime."

I quickly wiped my tears and washed my face. Walking out with my new friend.

After school, I walked out of the doors and ran home before anyone could say anything to me. Adrienne begged me to go to her house but I had to get home before Aunt Ingrid started worrying. Aunt Ingrid has always been a mother figure for me and I'm so grateful for that. She has always been there when I needed her. But I've always felt an absence in my life.

"I'm home Aunt Ri." I screamed while stepping into the house. She mumbled a hello from the kitchen making me smile. I went up to my room and lay down on my bed thinking about life. This has got to be the first day in four years that I have come home without crying. I let out a sigh. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I'm actually really satisfied.
