Lantern Rite was coming up, the streets of Liyue Harbor were filled with the lights of numerous lanterns hanging all around the place along with various decorations spreading across the harbor.

Some lanterns were floating in the sky as well, the Liyue Qixing, specifically Keqing and Ningguang were busy preparing ad to make this a memorable Lantern Rite this year.

That includes Keqing being so busy as to not rest for the past few days taking care of the placements of the fireworks.

Everyone was busy and the streets were as bustling as ever, [Name] on the other hand was running around the Harbor figuring out the best place possible to sit with Xiao to make him experience this year's Lantern Rite.

As they were running around, they eventually decided to take a rest at third-round knockout where they found their friends-Hu Tao and Zhongli-along with Xiangling having a meal.

Then later the traveler came and greeted all of you and proceeded to have a conversation with Zhongli as all of them left, making [Name] proceed to look for possible spots to watch the fireworks.

They decided to settle with just Wangshu Inn since the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing, Lady Keqing, had went through her work to extend the places of where the fireworks would set off until Qingce Village.

This meant that Xiao would be able to experience this even without leaving Wangshu Inn, Lady Ningguang did say that the Liyue Qixing were doing their all to make this the most memorable Lantern Rite this year.

And of course, [name] was excited as they are able to celebrate another Lantern Rite whilst being with someone they love while they are still in Teyvat.

Who wouldn't be happy, am I right?

As usual, they arrived at the Inn and walked to the balcony to be greeted with the Traveler, Paimon, and the Yuheng of the Qixing giving gifts to Xiao.

They smiled and sped up to say hello to everyone and had a bit of small talk before the others had to leave.

"The Yuheng is already so busy and even made time to prepare such gifts to the Adepti, well isn't she a kind soul. Don't you think so too Xiao?" They turned to the Adeptus who just nodded along as they smiled.

"What brings you here?" The male asked, "Well~ as you know, Lantern Rite is coming and I was sorta, maybe, kinda, wondering if you wanted to watch the fireworks set off with me?" they asked while making a bunch of hand gestures.

The Adeptus lightly chuckled and agreed. They blinked, Did he just chuckle? they thought.

"Great! I'll be here by tomorrow night!" They exclaimed excitedly and walked away, "Make sure to open the gifts they brought!" they reminded him, receiving no reply yet they just kept walking.

The next day arrived and they stood in their room, staring outside of their window and into the distance.

This was their last day.
This was your last day.

After saying your last goodbyes to Zhongli and Hu Tao, you arrived at Wangshu Inn as you said yesterday.

Obviously the Adeptus would be on the roof as he always is and so you climbed on it and sat down to see him already there, staring in the direction of the harbor and watching a few lanterns in the distance shining in the sky.

The Inn employees were sitting on the table just at the balcony by the roof and they were having a feast.

"Xiao~! I'm here!" You called out as he moved his head to look your way, he slightly smiled as you sat beside him.

It's insane how much Love can do to a person, no?

The things you would do just for the one that you love, the words that you would throw just to defend the one that you love.

The amazing feeling you feel when you realize you're in love.

The butterflies in your stomach, the red tint going across your face, those sweet thoughts going through your mind.

The way your heart races everytime you lay your eyes on them, and the thought of marrying coming every now and then across your mind.

The desire to feel what it felt to dance under the moonlight with them as a song plays in the background, the desire to feel what it felt like to have their body in-between your arms and to embrace them, to be with them during their hard times and to have them feel safe with you.

And that feeling where you never want to lose them, ever. But of course, not everything lasts forever.

The fireworks soon set off and various shapes of them were displayed in the sky. There were hearts, slimes, a pig, etc.

Xiao watched them as the lights of the fireworks reflected off his eyes, you watched as a light smile slowly appeared on his face as he looked around.

The air blew against his hair and you raised your hand to caress his cheek, he turned your way as his eyes widened to see the ice made of cryo forming snowflakes on the side of your face, your hands, and parts of your body.

He immediately tried to stand up to call someone but instead you tugged him down, "What's... happening to you?" he said, almost in a whisper yet you could hear the pain in his voice due to him knowing that this is already the last time he'll see you breathing and alive.

Yet he wanted to deny that, "Xiao.. The moment we met, I felt as if the whole world stopped, as if we were the only ones able to move." You stated, touching your foreheads together.

You closed your eyes, “Don't cry now, please.”

“No matter what it costs, or how long it takes, I promise to always find you, no matter if it’s in this life or the next. Even if it takes centuries or thousands of lives.” You told him, you heard him take a deep breath before replying,

“And I promise to wait for you, even if I have to wait to see Celestia fall, or the stars collide.”

“Even till death, we shalt not part.” The both of you voiced out, and you smiled before looking up to the sky to watch the remaining bits of fireworks spread across the sky, “And whether I'm dead or alive, I will stay by your side.” and turned to him before saying the words you always wanted to tell him.

Once he heard those words come out of your mouth, a tear fell from his eye, and he finally broke down. “Didn't I say not to cry?”

You looked at your hand, it was glowing blue and your hand started to disappear along with bits of ash-like glowing light or something. (Just imagine the way Gin disappeared from hotarubi no mori e cause I fucking suck at explaining scenes.)

“..I love you too.” He said as he held your old vision close to his chest, it's light slowly disappearing as the last bits of you dissipated into nothing and the last thing he could see from your face I that warm smile that he never wished to see disappear.

Eons passed by, a certain male with teal highlighted hair walked outside of his university, taking a small trip towards to local cafe down the street and ordering a drink.

After he got his drink, he sat down on a table and silently eavesdropped on the two ladies talking of a tale as he watched people come in and out of the door of the café.

His eyes shone as he watched a familiar form enter the café and order something too before sitting down on a nearby table.

He stood up and walked towards them, “Excuse me, may I sit with you?” he asked them, familiar [e/c] stared into his and smiled, “Of course.”

A/n: I was supposed to finish this by Lantern Rite, then by Valentine's day, but procrastination says no. Also how do you write death or confession scenes, this was so badly written 💀
