Balanced out

Ty POV

I tried to walk normally fast. Trying to catch up to her. I knew she wanted to wait for me, but her intuition told her to keep away from me. And she was doing right. I was no good for anybody, especially her. She deserved someone better. I finally spotted her, getting into her car and driving off. I wanted to run to her so bad but I knew better than that. I watched her car disappear into the distance thinking that was the first and last time I'll ever see her again. The last time I'll ever see her innocent brown eyes, hear her sweet melodic voice, and last chance to even shake her hand.

I sighed and walked back inside. I went back to the store and bought what I was going to buy. I was about to leave when the cashier asked me " Did you know the girl you were with when the incident happened sir?

" Um what? "Uh, yeah, why?" I lied furrowing my eyebrows. Well know her know her , not so much, but one thing I knew was that beautiful girl was my soul mate. The cashier grinned.

"Oh thank god ! She left her credit card here and I really didn't want to go through all the work of finding her and giving it back again. Here." She handed me a card. I instantly took it. Well, I guess I'll pay her a visit. She was running away from me, but it won't be for long. I carefully placed her card into my wallet with the rest of mine.

"Thanks. I'll make sure she gets it personally." I nodded to her making her blush. Geez , can't woman just stop gawking at me?! It's so annoying. I left before things got any weirder.

I arrived home and already I felt tired from all day. Drifting into sleep the only thing on my mind was her. I didn't mind though I was happy she was in my mind instead of other painful memories. She's the best thing that's happened to me for so long.

7:13 am and my stupid phone ringing. Ugh who could it be at this time. I grabbed my phone from the small table stand beside me. It was Jason. He's my best friend and my first in command. He's also my alarm clock.

"Hey, what do you want?" I answered.

"I want your money man !.... just kidding. Just making plans for the day." he said

"Continue" I knew he had good plans. I never doubted that. But sometimes he went too far. He's too crazy.

"We should go to the new skate club opening today dude." He said

"To Rolling Stones" I asked. That club has been on everybody's mouth at least once. It's tempting with all the announcements and promises. I really didn't want to miss the chance of going.

"Same one buddy" he said. I could already picture him making a face on the other side of the phone.

"Alright. I got a lot to do today, but I'll go. Text me the deats and ill see ya later." I said. Well technically I wasn't going to do anything today other than finish my work and return the card back.

"Okay handyman"

I shook my head.

"Bye" I ended the call and threw the covers off. Got up and grabbed a clean towel. I walked into the bathroom and stopped in front of the mirror. That girl popped into my head and my heart beat a little faster.

"Hi, I think this is yours." I practiced.

Nah, that sounded unusual. I walked myself to the shower and practiced until I found the right words to say. Quickly doing my routine I finished knowing there was no time to waste today. I wrapped the towel around my waist and headed into my walk-in closet. Grabbing a gray dress shirt, black pants, and black leather shoes. I dressed and finished with my cologne. I left to my kitchen. I never spent any time here since I don't know how to cook. So I poured myself some cereal and ate an apple. Most people drink coffee in the mornings to wake them up, but it seems to do the opposite to me. Preferably I don't like it , therefore I don't drink it.

I walked inside my office and turned on my laptop.

"Alright Ms. Runaway, lets see about you."

I'm an architect so I do a lot of background checks. I was anxious about this one though. What if she has a criminal record? I typed in her credit card number and code. 'Miriam Diaz' popped up.

"I know your name now" I smiled to myself. I tested her name on my lips. It flowed perfectly. Unusual name though. You don't hear that name everyday. That's cute I thought.

" Age , 19. Height , 5'0 " yep, she was definitely short. But that was adorable. I shook my head. Why was I thinking about her like that when I knew nothing was going to happen. I couldn't let it happen for the sake of her.

" I'm just going to give her her card back and continue on with my life. That's all." I reassured myself, but that felt like a punch to my heart.

I got her address and stored her number on my phone , 'you know, just in case'. I smirked. I finished my work for the day and wasted no time ok getting to where she lived. I slowed down my car when I reached her house. Her house was salmon with a pretty little pink garden. Her house wasn't that big but neither small. I did notice there was two cars in the driveway though. Maybe she had company? A friend? A boyfriend?

"Pft ! , I don't care. I came to see her and I will." I got out of my car and walked to her front door.
