"God, this is so exhausting," I sighed. "We'll never be able to stop him this way."
I was scrolling across news articles with my name on it, words flashing in front of my eyes. "A New Beginning: Kyle Rittenhouse offers Greta Thunberg Money to Advertise Capitalism as A New Way to Run Government." "A Million Dollar Contract? Or a Mistake?" When would this.. STOP? I was on the edge of my bed, eyes red, blood rushing through my veins. I could not ruin my reputation in any way. I could not let this happen.
Kamala swung an arm around my back. "Just do what I say and don't let him get to you," she said. I couldn't help but smile. At least someone cared.
"I'm going to let you get some sleep. Remember, we have a flight to catch tomorrow morning," Kamala whispered through gritted teeth. We were both tired. But we would win this. The next morning, I woke up, panting. A nightmare. About Kyle Rittenhouse, of course. I woke up right before the part where he handcuffed me. Survival instincts. I wondered if it was possible to write up a police report against something that happened in my dreams.
Luckily I had woken up right on time, 3:08 AM. The flight would leave at 5, and I had to avoid the press while safely making my way around the airport.
Unfortunately for me, I had had a failed Botox injection earlier this week which left my face... pretty fucked up. But hopefully, my 3 masks would cover up the damage. At least I wouldn't have to worry about embarrassing myself during the speech. After all, I was the great Greta Tintin Eleonara Ernman Thunberg. I feared nothing.
Wellll... I might've lied there. I did have a fear against Kyle Rittenhouse, the republican asshole who completely destroyed my reputation over a single night. After I heard the news, I didn't even bother turning on my phone again. But there was no way to escape the fact that he and I would be making a public appearance together, in DC, in front of thousands of people. This event was going to be huge. And I could not mess anything up.
I went about my day as usual. Boarded a non-C02 emitting plane, got off a non-C02 emitting plane, met with one of my friends in the States, got some Starbucks, and unpacked my bags at the hotel. I was staying in a single room all by myself. Kamala unpacked her bags in the room beside mine as I walked over to the window, gazing at the beautiful city below. And there, at the very bottom of the hotel, I saw him. My feared arch nemesis, my worst enemy, Kyle.
I could simply not believe my eyes. He was staying here? In the same hotel that I was in?! This had to be a set up. HAD to.
Just then, I knew what I had to do. I would find out the room he would be staying in, and would pay him a little visit.
I put on my masks, zipped up my hoodie, and slipped past the slightly opened door and into the brightly-lit corridor.
