Help me remember

The meeting

Kuroo woke up and was confused by the room he was in until he remembered that he's back in his hometown, he got back a few days ago after moving away. He got up and did all the things that he would usually do before school. After he was done, he went outside to start the, now daily walk to school. He looked around for a bit, having flashbacks when he was little, running around with his best friend. He smiled back at the memories and didn't realize that he arrived at the school building. He went inside and picked up his schedule, he looks at the first class of the day and walked to the classroom. He looked around and saw the classroom where he has his first lesson. He walks a bit quicker, excited, and didn't notice the trashcan beside the door.

He accidentally stumbles, he grabbed the doorknob to steady himself but accidentally opened which led to falling inside the classroom. He heard a few snickers and he looked up, chuckling at himself. "Didn't notice that" he murmured as he quickly proceeded to his seat. He took a seat in the back. He noticed someone familiar sitting in the middle of the class. He got curious, so he tried to get the person's attention by hissing and quietly coughing.

The grey-haired male thought he heard someone and took out his earbuds before looking around to see if the person was ok. Upon figuring it out he gave a small smile "are you ok? Do you need water? I have an extra bottle if you need it." He offered up. If anything making a new friend in the class wouldn't be so bad. He began to think about if he had ever seen the other person before. He had a feeling that the other person was familiar but couldn't figure out when they had met. He grabbed the extra water bottle and then moved seats so he was sitting in front of the new persons.

He set down the water bottle "just in case" He gave a small wink before taking his now new seat "I don't think I've seen you before?" "I'm Koshi Sugawara by the way" he held out his hand excited to get to know the other. Kuroo furrowed his brows, a bit confused. "Oh thanks," he said staring at the bottle. "Yeah, I'm okay.. a bit embarrassed but I'll survive" he joked. Kuroo looked at him. "Ehm, you sure you don't know me?" He said as he took his hand and greeted him. "Oh well, I'm Tetsuro Kuroo" he introduced himself.

"I moved here a couple of days ago.." he said, leaving out the part that this is his hometown. He drank a bit of water and looked back at Suga. He sighs and looked away at the other students. "I didn't expect this.." he mumbles to himself. He was excited to see his best friend again but it seems something happened but he can't figure out what it is. Suga chuckled a little bit, not at the boy but yet in an understanding way. He took his hand back and rested his head in his hands.

"Well, I guess it would only be right to welcome you into town.I really hope you enjoy it here..maybe we can even become friends?" He sounded so optimistic throughout their conversation, though something felt a bit off. So he found himself staring at Kuroo, before the conversation could continue they're attention was pulled away into class. He blushed in embarrassment from staring and then turned back in his seat to pay attention.

Because it was the first day they didn't do too much actual school work, introductions, and a bit of review was it. Suga gathered his stuff and then looked back at Kuroo "hey if you want to...I would love for you to come sit with me and my friends at lunch." He stood up and put his bag on his shoulder "of course if you're comfortable. I just don't want you to feel..alone.." he chuckled softly at himself and gripped onto his back, cursing at himself for being awkward like that.

Kuroo smiled at him as he gathers his stuff. "Oh yeah, I would love to," He said. He was still a bit disappointed when he realized that his best friend for years didn't recognize him but he decided to no longer dwell on it. He stood up and swung his arm around Suga's shoulder like he always did before. He hasn't realized that what he did was maybe a bit too much for Suga as he didn't know Kuroo."Hm I'm hungry" he said as he walked outside, eyeing the evil trashcan beside the door.

"Like Satan himself" he mumbles to the trashcan. Suga was a little shocked by the gesture but didn't mind it too much. He had a strong understanding that everyone was different in communicating. If anything he found this a bit comforting and leaning into the other a bit. "Well, they have some good options here. And then of course it's an open campus. So you can always leave and pick up food if you don't like what they have here"

Once they walked a bit he saw his friends and slipped from Kuroo's arm so he could take his hand instead to lead him over. Once they got over there he didn't let go of Kuroo's hand, instead just holding onto it as he spoke "Daichi, Asahi, Kiyoko..this is Kuroo. He's new here. So I was hoping we could make him feel more welcome" Of course, the trio had recognized the other but had to pretend like they didn't as they greeted Kuroo. Giving him a bit of a look like they knew they needed to explain.

Suga noticed the stares "geez- you guys..don't scare him.." he rolled his eyes and then set his stuff down at his seat "imma go grab my food..Feel free to tag along if you like" he called to Kuroo before heading in the direction of the lunch line"Eh, yeah I'll come with you in a sec.." he said as he saw Suga walking away. He quickly looked back at Suga's friends who were actually Kuroo's friends too. "Guys explain please, he's being weird. It seems like he doesn't recognize me" he said, trying to keep it as quiet as possible

Dachi was the first one to talk. "Well first, it's nice to see you again" he nodded. "And second, it's a long story but to say it simply, he lost his memory. I'm sorry..he only knows what happened from up to when high school started" he said slowly. Kuroo looked shocked, he was hoping that someone would tell him it was a prank or something but Daichi seemed very serious. "Wait are you being for real?" Kuroo said, looking down.
