Anna's POV
It had been 5 years, FIVE years. And 4 murders, who knows what the 5th one will be.
The month of gingerbread houses and candy canes has turned into the month of fear, and having your guns prepared and loaded.
And this Christmas nightmare started in 2017.

I can remember it like it was yesterday.
I was at my boyfriends house, Tim.
Him, his older brother, his 2 younger sisters and I were watching tv. When the tv suddenly switched to the local news channel. And I will never forget the words they said.
"The 17 year old Olivia Rosenberg has hung herself at the entrance of the local high school. The police is suspecting that we are talking about homicide and not a suicide case. They have found bruises all over her body and in her neck. We can't say a lot about the situation right now but detectives are guessing she has been strangled to death and then hung up to cover it. So we are asking everyone to stay inside until we have found our murderer."
We we're all silent and Emma, Tim's sister, started calling their parents and took Mia -the youngest upstairs.
The news reporter started to explain how they think the suspect looks like but we had already turned off the tv.
It was all over the news for weeks maybe even months.
Little did we know that it was just the start.

Around Christmas in 2018 did the second homicide find place.
You can guess that they didn't find the last years murderer.
This time I was at my own house, me and my mum were making gingerbread houses and my dad was in the living room watching tv.
When again the tv switched to the local news channel.
"Honey!" My dad shouted. "Come here, quick! The tv switched to the news channel!" We quickly dropped everything and rushed to the living room when the news reported started talking.
"The 19 year old Harper Douglas has been found dead in her bedroom this evening." A shiver went down my spine as she continued.
"The police and detectives have found traces of burglary at the window, and again bruises in her neck. Her wrists were slit and they have found multiple stab wounds in her stomach. Because this homicide is around the same time as last year and they are finding more patterns the police suspects that it was the same person who killed Harper this time."
My mum was shaking a bit and my dad said nothing while the reported told what they think the suspect looks like.

In 2019, around Christmas did another homicide find place again.
I was upstairs when I heard loud banging on our door, I was home alone so I looked through the window first, seeing Tim.
I opened the door and he grabbed my face checking me out for any bruises, I think?
"Tim, Tim, calm down. What is going on?" I asked him worriedly.
He gave me a kiss and sighed in relieve. "Another murder found place and you didn't pick up your phone this afternoon so I was worried sick!"
I smiled at him in aww when I thought about how I had dropped my phone down the stairs this morning and had broken the screen.
We both turned on the tv so we could get more information about what had happend this time.
"The 18 year old James Johnson has been found dead this afternoon." I felt Tim's hand squeeze my thigh and I swallowed the lump in my throat hearing that he was the same age as us.
"His parents have told us that he went for a walk in the forest this morning but never came back. This was completely out of character, according to his parents let James always know if he would be home later or where he was. His parents immediately called the police praying that the worst hadn't happend."
Pictures of James and the crime scene comes up as the reported continues.
"The police have found bruises on his body and a bullet wound through his head. Our suspect tried to make it look like a suicide case again, but failed. We suspect that our so called 'Christmas Killer' has struck again."
The urgent request not to leave the house this evening and some more details get told as I turn off the tv.
"I can't believe it, this town is cursed.' Tim says to me giving a kiss on my forehead.
After we both had called our parents to see if everyone was okay we fell asleep on the couch together.

In 2020 my boyfriends family and mine were all at our house.
We were playing card games in the kitchen and had been chit chatting a lot.
Our dads we're watching football in the living room.
"Everyone get here! Quickly!" My dad shouted.
We all stood up going to the living room.
"The tv is switching to the local news channel again."
I felt an arm around my shoulder and a light squeeze. I knew without looking up that it was Tim.
The news reporter started talking.
"This afternoon around 5pm the 25 year old Melissa Evans has been murdered. She was staying at a rehabilitation center to recover from a car crash causing to numb her from her waist down."
This is terrible.
"Because Melissa couldn't walk and had trouble breathing she was putted on a vent this morning. When the nurse came to check on her around 12 am she was sleeping peacefully and nothing was wrong. When the nurse came back around 5 pm, Melissa was found dead. This time there haven't been found any bruises so the police is looking out for a possible second murderer until they have found more clues proving it was the same one. This is all the information we can give you for now."
The reporter goes on with the things we've already heard a thousand times by now.
Stay home, be safe, don't go outside tonight and stay with your loved ones. You know the drill.
Everyone was in shock again and in disbelief.
Why would they kill someone who is already 'sick'.
This killer is insane.
